Capitalization of title[edit]

@Yann: your own view of French usage is not as relevant as WP:CAPM, which applies to the titles for all musical composition articles on English wikipedia. I cited this when I reverted you last time, presumably you didn't even bother to read it? If you have an issue with CAPM then the correct (and certainly friendlier) procedure would be to take it up at WikiProject Classical music, not to edit war here. - Aegoceras (talk) 20:40, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, This is not my own view. It is the standard French capitalization based on the official rules from the Académie française and professionals like Désiré Greffier in Les Regles de la composition typographique. You can get the details on fr:Wikipédia:Conventions typographiques#TITRES-FR (Wikipedia) and s:fr:Aide:Conventions de nommages des œuvres (Wikisource). Short translation: The first noun is capitalized. Any adjective preceding the first noun is capitalized. If the title is in French, it should follow the proper French capitalization. This is English Wikipedia, not French Wikipedia. WP:CAPM is the standard that has been used for the titles of hundreds or thousands of composition articles here. If you read CAPM (have you?), you will see that for foreign language titles it explicitly follows the style of certain leading English music encyclopedias. If you think it should be changed to follow the Academie's rules instead, then make the case at WikiProject Classical music and try to get a consensus there. In the meantime, it is only your personal opinion that the Academie's rules should be followed, and you are going against the current consensus. - Aegoceras (talk) 21:21, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
