Legal practice is not "practice of law"[edit]

I removed the redirect because this is an entirely different, if related. subject, as should be apparent as the article grows. "Practice of law" is about what lawyers do. "Legal practice" is about what judges and administrators do. Bracton (talk) 22:22, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Where do you get that information from? Lawyers talk about themselves being in "legal practice" all the time, and one would be hard-pressed to explain how "legal practice" wouldn't mean the same thing as "practice of law". —Largo Plazo (talk) 23:35, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I get it from being a legal historian, but I have begun citing the first of many references that make the distinction, as you can also find by just doing a web search on the term. The casual use of a term by lawyers doesn't mean much, but if you were to ask one competent in history as well as law he would confirm. Bracton (talk) 01:56, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
In particular, you might want to do a search on the phrase "custom, policy, or practice". The results should be enlightening. Bracton (talk) 02:15, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
