No teasing[edit]

This article says:

In 1844, when the Methodist church divided over slavery, he was a member of the General Conference, and drew up the plan of separation.

When I saw this a few minutes ago, it did not have a link to General conference (United Methodist Church). I put that link there. The article still doesn't answer the blatantly obvious question.

When I read this, my first thought was that the "General conference" was one of the two factions. But it didn't say which one. And it omitted the link that I put in. I had to look around to find out what the General conference was before I could put the link there.

And the article still doesn't say which side he was on. I would guess the anti-slavery side since this happened in Minnesota, but the article should say explicitly which one.

Omission of such things is teasing. Obviously anyone with a bit of common sense who writes here would expect the reader to wonder about that. Michael Hardy (talk) 03:46, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
