Ignorant Americans don't exactly know what this means[edit]

I was a bit started to see an unassuming single line on the main page announce "The Government of Belgium falls". That seems like a big deal to me! And yet this is a small article. I'm a typical American and don't know much about political systems outside of a representative democracy. I presume then that the "fall of government" in this case doesn't involve a coup, rioting, etc? Perhaps someone with a greater understanding of the subject could explain how this appears to be a news non-item when it seems like it ought to be grabbing the headlines. Is this a regular occurrence? Phasmatisnox (talk) 01:41, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Consensus wasn't established at WP:ITN/C, as there was no nomination. I left a message on several pages to remove the item until the article better explains what is happening. SpencerT♦C 01:59, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Everything is "current" "is" "are". We need to change tenses! I'd do it, but I'm kinda sleepy. --79.65.69.55 (talk) 01:03, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

First?[edit]

Should we call this Leterme I Government if there is no Leterme II Government?--Avala (talk) 15:48, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Move?[edit]

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: moved. Not much of a consensus here, but as this is a request to revert an undiscussed move we default to moving back to the stable title. This all said, I agree with what Anthony, Skinsmoke and Andrewa have said and would recommend starting a wider discussion for all Belgian cabinet articles. First Cabinet of Yves LetermeLeterme I Government

  • Reverting a page move that was done without any discussion nor any given reason. The user who moved the page neither answered my question on his talk page. The previous name "Leterme I Government" is like all other Belgian government cabinets. Relisted. BDD (talk) 18:13, 6 March 2013 (UTC) SPQRobin (talk) 17:56, 23 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • "First Cabinet of Yves Leterme" seems clearer to me, since I am not Belgian. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:58, 23 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • Well, then it should be first discussed and if agreed upon, all cabinet articles should have the new page title format. Not like this, without discussion and for one single page. SPQRobin (talk) 23:47, 23 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: Must admit, Leterme I Government seems very odd in English. It suggests he is of the royal family. Agree it makes sense to consider all the similar pages together though. Skinsmoke (talk) 21:37, 24 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support: This is standard notation for governments around the world. It's also the stance adopted in many WP:BELG articles, i.e. Pierlot IV Government. An across-the-board move to First X Government (like British topics) would be OK too, but would require much more effort.---Brigade Piron (talk) 14:21, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: Neither the current nor the proposed title seem good to me, I think that First Leterme Government should be seriously considered. The wider consistency is more important here. Andrewa (talk) 15:00, 15 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
