Does anyone have information about ink/dye from olive shells being used LONG-AGO to provide the color for the robes of Catholic Bishops??

Thanks, BMJD

I believe you are thinking of murex shells, not olives, a different family of marine gastropods. Take a look at Tyrian purple. Invertzoo (talk) 17:57, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
