Story behind Cuarenta y Tres[edit]

My partner is in the Military and was posted at the Petawawa Canadian Forces Base, Ontario. He is now in Alberta and I am in Ontario. But when he was in Petawawa it was easier for us to be together. He would always share a shot of Cuarenta y Tres with me when I visited him. Since then Cuarenta y Tres has become a special liquor for us. Last year two of my sisters went to Los Angeles to visit another sister. Since Cuarente y Tres is not sold in Canada, I asked them to see if they can find a bottle of Cuarenta y Tres. I was hopefuly they would since Los Angeles is so close to Mexico, which is where Cuarenta y Tres can be bought. I never realized how important it was to them to find a bottle of Cuarente y Tres until they shared their unbelievable story with me. While they were in Los Angeles, I was spending my last weekend with my parter before he moved to Alberta. It was a very sad time for me, which is why it was important for my sisters to find Cuarente y Tres. They search and search while they were in Los Angeles but couldn't find a bottle... until the day before they returned to Canada. They travelled in the countryside of Los Angeles for fruit farms. They turned on HWY 43 and right away one of my sisters made a comment about how I was probably hoping right at that moment that they would find a bottle of Cuarente y Tres for me. They laughed it off and continued on HWY 43. They stopped at a corner store for a quick break and one of my sisters asked the worker there if they know where she could find a bottle of Cuarente y Tres. The worker laughed and told them he used to own a liquor called "Good Luck" 10 years ago and he had one bottle of Cuarente y Tres. He tried everything to sell the bottle, he even lowered the price of the liquor. My sister explained to him why she was looking for that liquor and he encouraged her to find that liquor store which was about 20 miles away. On their way back to Los Angeles, they saw the liquor store "Good Luck" and went in. Sure enough there was the bottle of Cuarente y Tres!!!! They bought it for me and now I take a shot when I am lonely for my canadian soldier. I wish Cuarente y Tres was sold in Canada. PR?[edit]

Was this written by their marketing department? "A taste of summer?"..... hardly NPOV! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.97.87.55 (talk) 22:20, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Roman citrus?[edit]

The history of the liquor makes no sense. Look up the article "orange" and see that first citrus came to Europe around 1450... The spanish article doesn´t say that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.202.2.21 (talk) 18:25, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Papiamentu[edit]

I wonder why you mention that the name is also Papiamentu for 43, since the drink comes from Spain, not the Dutch Caribbean islands (the only region where Papiamentu is spoken).213.127.210.95 (talk) 15:24, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
