Bolded??[edit]

I was reading through this article and found some parts bolded for no apparent reason, I've tried to change it, but to no avail, can someone change that for me please? Is it right to change it? Any way, just a question...Johanna451940 00:01, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

I have no idea who changed the bolded sentences, but thanks so much!!--Johanna451940 23:21, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Bolde Sentences .[edit]

Hey Johanna

The bolded sentences must have been there for a special reason. Usually to attract your attention. Was it even important. JabocJacobOhYeah (talk) 03:13, 26 February 2011 (UTC)_

Sorry, the edit history shows that the bolded sentences were added by a vandal, but whoever reverted the vandalism didn't catch the bold formatting markup. Aristophanes68 (talk) 06:50, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

So you mean that the bolded parts of sentences were important. Am i right.--JabocJacobOhYeah (talk) 20:32, 26 February 2011 (UTC)_

No, the bolded sentences were not more important than the rest. Someone bolded them as a joke. Aristophanes68 (talk) 21:18, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Bolded them as a joke . Well Maybe you can find out who it is that did it. I will ask him or her question about it. Thank you so very much.--JabocJacobOhYeah (talk) 22:03, 26 February 2011 (UTC)__

English, Literature, etc, in varieties of English[edit]

Relying on the article I added this to template {{Infobox writer}}

  • | education = B.A. English<!-- in this case some link to American university study of "English" will be useful; here and in prose -->

Prose under Personal life mentions English language in the home, English literature as a field of study, English language as a teacher, and perhaps other uses of 'English' and 'literature' that may be ambiguous without WP:wikilinks.

For example, she "graduated {Stanford University, USA} with a high degree in English. She also obtained advanced degrees in literature from Trinity College in Ireland and also from the University of London." I understand it's true in higher education that English in USA and literature in ROI and UKGBNI all refer to the same field of study, which some call English literature, and others including EN.wikipedia call Literature in English. (And that another field is called Linguistics in USA and English in UK?) But I may be wrong. Someone who is right ;-) should provide useful links and re-wordings.

Related points:

  1. "Dublin" is worth saying, not hiding, about Trinity College
  2. [Irish] husband needs a different link. Is he from Dublin?
  3. "Before writing her first book ..." --this sentence should try to distinguish activity in Ireland, Britain, and America which means that it should be more than one sentence! Then follows a huge jump to her current board of directors service for the (U.S.) National blah-blah.
