No Italian operators[edit]

According to Brotzu, E. (1981). Aviazione militare in Italia (Air Force in Italy) (in Italian). Rome - Italy: Edizioni dell'ateneo. {{cite book}}: Unknown parameter |month= ignored (help) it is clearly stated that Italian Co-Belligerent Air Force unique US made bombers were Martin Baltimore. Moreover, Anselmino, F. (1998). Aeronautica Militare i reparti di volo (Aeronautica Militare flying units) (in Italian). Rome - Italy: Edizioni Monografie. {{cite book}}: Unknown parameter |coauthors= ignored (|author= suggested) (help) states that due to Malta's armistice (long version) Italy had permission to keep 200 fighters, 150 utility planes, but not bombers at all. Only in 1949 rules changed allowing then existing De Havilland Vampire as fighter-bombers, but that was completely another era.

I'm sure that this is here because of the B-24D that was captured in Sicily in 1943 and subsequently painted in RA markings during evaluation. I don't think this qualifies Italy as an "operator", so I'll clarify the matter here and on the main page... --Rlandmann (talk) 22:26, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Brazil as an operator?[edit]

I cannot find any reference in the bibliography which indicates Brazil as a B-24 operator. The allegation seems very odd to me, especially because recent years have seen the publication (in Brazil) of numerous books about the history of the Brazilian Air Force and none ever mentions the B-24. Our local Aerospace Museum has a significant amount of references to the exploits of Brazilian pilots during WWII, yet none to the B-24. On the other hand, Brazil was an operator of the B-25 Mitchell for many years, beginning in 1944 and extending as late as to the early 70s. Anyway we can see that, while the article contains a summary of squadrons and histories for the other countries, there is none for Brazil. Last but not least, the reference to Brazil is unsourced. Should we not assume that this was a mistake (maybe with the intent of referring to the B-25) and therefore delete it? SrAtoz (talk) 12:33, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
