Lead suggestions[edit]

Anyone? It took me a while to choose a title for the article too. Alientraveller (talk) 20:33, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Articles[edit]

I think there should be an article for Wu Han,Kao Kan,Lao Che,Chen,and Rene Belloq 72.215.11.160 (talk) 19:16, 14 June 2008 (UTC)MrBelloq72.215.11.160 (talk) 19:16, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe for Belloq, but you can't have an article on any of the characters from the Doom prologue. No real information whatsoever. Alientraveller (talk) 19:38, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Articles would be way too short. What is there to say about Kao Kan? "Kao Kan tried to steal Nurachi and was bandaged up and later killed Wu Han" or "Indiana jones killed Kao Kan by throwing a kabob at his heart" (I can't tell who is who). hbdragon88 (talk) 19:58, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Indiana Jones killed Chen by throwing a flaming Kebab at his chest, not his heart! And Kao Kan didn't try to to steal Nurchai or got bandaged up.He didn't kill Wu Han either!Chen did all that!Satipo (talk) 17:39, 17 June 2008 (UTC)SatipoSatipo (talk) 17:39, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Like I said, I can't tell which borther was which. hbdragon88 (talk) 18:12, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
May i create the Article Rene Belloq?72.215.11.160 (talk) 13:31, 21 June 2008 (UTC)MrBelloq72.215.11.160 (talk) 13:31, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The whole reason this article was created is because characters like Belloq, Toht etc. were not deemed worthy of their own articles, but I felt there was something worthwhile to write about, hence this page's existence. Alientraveller (talk) 17:50, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

THEN WHY DID YOU REDIRECT IT TO THIS PAGE FUCKN BITCH!Satipo (talk) 17:59, 23 June 2008 (UTC)SatipoSatipo (talk) 17:59, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WP:CIVIL. Now while I don't feel like answering you and your foul tone, is there truly anything more we can write about Belloq beyond four paragraphs? Alientraveller (talk) 18:00, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What about Gobler? Is there a section about him?Is he in Lego Indiana Jones:The Original Adventures or in the Race For the Stolen Treasure lego set ? Satipo (talk) 18:27, 3 July 2008 (UTC)SatipoSatipo (talk) 18:27, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Geographical mistake[edit]

In article about Indiana Jones characters, there is notation about Irina Spalko (holywoods character) They say she was born in Eastern part of Ukraine in mountain village. This is geographical nonsense. There is no mountains in Eastern Ukraine. If you look at physical map of Ukraine mountains are present only in Westernmost part of Ukraine (Carpatians).Other part of Ukrain is flat like a table. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.73.164.254 (talk) 05:54, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Short Round[edit]

Although the Making of Indiana Jones DVD indicates that the character is named after the screenwriters' dog, Samuel Fuller's 1951 film, "The Steel Helment", contains a character with the same name. He's a plucky asian boy who guides a group of US infantry men through the Korean jungle. Is there any evidence for that this is the true origin of the name?

I wonder if they will ever bring back Short Round in an upcoming Indy movie, just like they did with other previous characters...?--Splashen (talk) 04:42, 20 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

On the page it is correctly stated that Short Round speaks Cantonese. This seems a bit weird though, as he is a boy from Shanghai where they speak Mandarin and not Cantonese. 109.149.40.253 (talk) 19:40, 27 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Bolding[edit]

I'm curious, why is bolding necessary with the headers already bolded? I do not see WP:MOSBOLD specifying a need for those characters without articles. Alientraveller (talk) 19:01, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dead explorer[edit]

Can someone add info about the previous dead explorer who Indy says was "very good" and died in the light trap? I think his name was "Forestal". -OberRanks (talk) 20:06, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lao Che[edit]

I removed a section making claims about a custom supposedly common among expatriates saying "Nice try, Lao Che" when leaving Shanghai. It sounds like a "this thing me and my friend did this one time" story, and the citation was to Nationmaster page which itself was a copy of Wikipidia. --Tysto (talk) 17:39, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This Lao Che nonsense continues to be added to this article. I cannot see any other approach than to suggest page protection. Does anyone have any other ideas? ---The Old JacobiteThe '45 14:07, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Boldface[edit]

This article is terribly inconsistent about putting character names in boldface. There seems to be no rationale for it at all. This needs to be fixed. ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 13:25, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Satipo[edit]

The one time Jones addresses Satipo by name, he actually says "Sapito." Did anyone else notice this? -Shawn Crapo 00:17, 28 December 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sec 1971 (talkcontribs)

Vogel[edit]

The article mentions that Ernst Vogel is also known as Herr Oberst. This should not be bolded, as it's simply the German phrase for referring to him by rank, literally "Mr. Colonel". It's customary in German to refer to a person by all possible honorifics, starting with Herr or Frau (as the case may be), in increasing order of prestige. So a professor would be Herr Doktor Professor So-and-so, and one who is also a baron would be Herr Doktor Professor Graf So-and-so (von Somewhere). While his official rank is listed as Standartenführer, this is equivalent to a colonel (Oberst), and it would be proper decorum to address him as Herr Oberst Vogel. Surrogate ?[edit]

How can 'Ox' be the surrogate father to Mutt, if Henry Jones JR(Indy) is his biological father. Surrogate relates to artificial insemination and would mean that not Henry Jones JR but Ox was his biological father. Does the author of this page actually mean 'step' father ?

Can somebody clarify this please?

Short Round (Again), Wan Li, or Souwamu...[edit]

Was watching movies again, this time on Netflix rather than my old DVDs, and noticed they've made a change to Short Round's dialogue. Previously identified in source materials and guides with the official name Wan Li, this now appears to have been retroactively retconned, as it's now been video edited to have him saying "See? Bad news. You listen to Sou Wah Mu." Rather than "you listen to Short Round," as it had previously. I was wondering if this should be reflected in the character pages, at the very least, though I was surprised to see neither name up mentioned at all, as if we're avoiding the issue entirely (I wouldn't blame anybody, honestly). That's all. --Blast Vortex (talk) 05:55, 19 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination for deletion of Template:Jones family tree[edit]

Family tree[edit]

I believe the inclusion of the family tree has value in the context of this article, showing the connections between characters, even though I voiced my opinion to delete it as a template used in multiple articles. Frietjes (talk) 19:49, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Helena?[edit]

Why is there no mini-bio for Helena Shaw yet? She is a major character in the fifth film so surely she deserves one. Upton Liptrot (talk) 20:00, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Jürgen Voller[edit]

Dial's main villain, the entry seems way too long and includes what may be Wikipedia's record wall-of-text paragraph. Can someone else edit this entry down to three or four sentences, thanks (I'll pass since I'm in awe of the wall-of-text paragraph and too busy applauding).
