Jack and Rose?

[edit]

I realized this while replaying mgs2 and by chance watching Titanic in the same time frame. Does the name correlation hold any
significance? A bit of Googling tells me I am not alone in the assumption that this was purposeful, so does it have a place
in this article? And, what, if any purpose does this serve? 216.158.164.2 (talk) 04:58, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rose Mary

[edit]

I just completed MGS2, and at the end scene I noticed the name tag for rosemary, and it actually said "Rose Mary", in that Mary was her second name.

Existance of Rose

[edit]

"Jack and Rose met on April 30th, 2007 in Federal Hall just after Jack's transfer to New York military base..."

"...And in this version, Rosemary and Raiden never meet which would have lead the player to wonder whether she was real or just an AI construct"

A little conradictory don't you think? - 82.71.13.146 18:42, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not a constant editor of this page, but I'm certain that it is never stated that Rose and Raiden never met. You only speak to Rose once during the game, but if that Rose is real (which it certainly implied she is, but is by no means confirmed) then Raiden and Rose DID meet. ≈ The Haunted Angel //The Forest Whispers My Name// 19:01, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you actually the whole sentence, that refers to an earlier draft of the story from the MGS2 Game Plan that was written prior to the final script (in which Raiden meets Rose during the game, who is a supposed hostage in the Big Shell). Jonny2x4 (talk) 02:38, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rose does exist, but she is replaced by GW towards the end of the game, when the "Colonel" goes strange Jackacon 14:10, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Solidus Snake

[edit]

Under Solidus Snake, it lists his Democracy Blade and his Republic Blade, and both of these link to the pages of the Republican and Democratic Party. I highly doubt the names are referring to the parties rather than the forms of government. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.250.158.228 (talk) 18:11, 13 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Under Solidus Snake, it says that Raiden confronts Solidus Snake two times. This is incorrect. Solidus Snake confronts Raiden four times, starting with the Harrier scene on the Plant, then three times on Arsenal Gear, first in a torture scene, then before he sends the Mass Produced Metal Gear RAYs to fight Raiden, and then after Raiden beat the RAYs, where Solidus confronts him again, kills Olga, and then eventually fights him on top of Federal Hall. I've therefore changed "confront" with "fight," as the ones currently listed are actually boss battles, and not confrontations. The difference between these words is that confront means to meet someone with the intent of hostility, where as fight mean an actual hostile encounter. You can confront someone without any fighting happening at all, and it then resolves peacefully.--24.163.209.46 21:32, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vamp

[edit]

As opposed to here, shouldn't Vamp be in List of Recurring Metal Gear Characters, seeing as he is also in MGS4? --ChaosSorcerer91 17:05, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This really puzzles me......

[edit]

How in earth you (almost) kill someone when trying to get yourself killed....... IN A POOL? that's what E.E. said... 200.116.23.63 21:50, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

When people commit suicide, they often try and take people with them. Especially people they love and do not want to leave behind.

I hope that answers your question, but in future remember that this is a talk page, not a forum. --ChaosSorcerer91 12:30, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Solidus.jpg

Emma's Mother

[edit]

Julie Danziger? Does anyone have a source for this name? I sure don't remember it being mentioned in-game. -- Son Goharotto (talk) 21:15, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rosemary states Emma's surname as Danziger, Danziger being her mother's maiden name, while Julie is the name Otacon refers to her mother as. Jonny2x4 (talk) 20:06, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, so this does come from in-game dialogue? Thank you. -- Son Goharotto (talk) 14:34, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dolph and Vamp

[edit]

Article says: "General Scott Dolph is the Commandant of the Marine Corps, the father of Helena Dolph Jackson (Fortune)and the former lover of Vamp." Is Scott Vamp's former lover? Or is it supposed to imply that Fortune is Vamp's former lover? If the former, can we get a source? Darimoma (talk) 23:04, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

MGS4 Spoilers?

[edit]

There's a metric ton of MGS4 spoilers on this page, like Vamp and such. Should that be allowed? This is the MGS2 page; story points revealed in MGS4 should go on the MGS4 page, shouldn't they? MasamuneXGP (talk) 09:57, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Solidus

[edit]

I have to take issue with this quote

"Solidus, however, is no match for his genetically superior brothers, Solid and Liquid, and is forced to rely on a powered exoskeleton to give him the strength and combat skill of his two brothers. As the rejected survivor of the "les enfantes terribles" he was used as a puppet by the patriots as the president, known as George Sears."

It is never stated in any of the games that Solid or Liquid are genetically superior to Solidus. If anything, Solidus was the superior one, because he was a perfect genetic clone of Big Boss, while Solid and Liquid were not. The power-suit was there simply to give him a combat advantage. This sentence should be removed.PiccoloNamek (talk) 19:05, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Question

[edit]

I know that i`m not supposed to simply ask questions on talk pages but, could someone explain to me exactly, when, how, who says that nanomachines transform "THe patriots" in "la-li-lu-le-lo", i`ve played sons of liberty quite a few times and i don`t recal it. for example, Mayor Dolph says, La-li-lu-le-lo out loud, and Raiden hear "the patriots" with Snake and the president, and la-li-lu-le-lo with the ninja and with Ames, could someone explain that to me.
