Merge request[edit]

Someone suggested merging this list with List of Oakland Athletics managers. I disagree. Most manager lists exclude owners and executives because the managers themselves amply cover a large topic, and since the role of a baseball manager is very different from that of an owner or executive. Adding owners and executives just muddles the article. And the Oakland Athletics have had plenty of managers to generate an adequate standalone list (even though one key manager was also the owner). The owners and executives should have their own list. This is a good start, and should probably be renamed "List of Oakland Athletics owners and exectives". I agree with you and will remove the merge template and make the move. I'm currently going through the lists of owners and executives to try to standardize them, and they should be separate from the lists of field managers. --Muboshgu (talk) 18:43, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
