Camps[edit]

Camps needs to be defined. Some Army depots, arsenals, farms and hospital had POW wings, were POW (mostly Italians, called Italian Service Units (ISU)) volunteered work for better housing, than the standard POW camp. 40 Italian POWs worked at Burbank's Birmingham General Hospital, California
Benicia Arsenal had Italian and German POWs working.
and many more could be listed.

Camp Pine Woods[edit]

The main camp was Fort Sheridan with 4,000 German prisoners.
- Fort Sheridan had sub camps:Camp Pine, Camp Thornton and Camp Skokie Valley, each had bout 200 POWs.[1]

Camp Rucker, Arizona[edit]

Camp Rucker in Arizona WAS NOT a World War II POW camp. Camp Rucker was deactivated in the 1880s and was a ranch during WW II. Most likely this is being confused with Fort Rucker in Alabama? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.56.195.123 (talk) 16:11, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Camp Trinidad.[edit]

The note states: "This was probably a coal mining tunnel in that Engleville was a coal mining camp where this POW camp is purported to be located. Coal mining was prominent in the late 1870s to the 1950s. A few continued into the early 1970s in Las Animas County where Trinidad is located." This is incorrect. Camp Trinidad was located near Beshoar Junction of the Colorado & Southern railroad (CB&Q), which is well out of the coal belt in Las Animas County. Iowa Camps and Camp Stockton[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians! I came to this article hoping to find more information about camps in Iowa, of which only 2 are listed as actual camps. I noticed in the notes Camp Stockton that it mentions Camp Storm Lake in Iowa, but it has no mentions outside of this. I also know of multiple other camps in Iowa, those being in Clinton, Muscatine, Traer, Waverly, Toledo, Grundy Center, Charles City, Hampton, Eldora, Iowa Falls, Rockford, Mason City, Boone, Eagle Grove, Britt, Humbolt, Tabor and Shenandoah.
