Duplicates and rude comments

It seems that the list of games appears twice now on the page. Also, the second list contains bogus entries ("you suck" in the Y section, "veneral disease" in the V section) that should probably be weeded out. I'd love to do this myself, but it also seems the second list differs slightly from the first in terms of legitimate content (eg. "Warhawk" does not appear on the first list) and I don't have the time to verify all the content.

References

This page badly needs references and cleaned up I will add some references and update accordingly. Taladar 12:47, 31 October 2005 (UTC)

If anyone wants me too, I'm currently working on a revised PS3 list based on the Nintendo Revolution format [where you add reference links, etc]. The only bad thing is that I don't have the time to search for official announcements on each individual game, so I'll just link to website profiles for the time being if that's exceptable to everyone. Godzilla 06:30, March 26 2006

The guide to citing sources for Wikipedia should be used.
About the Nintendo Wii format, following the format of adding AT LEAST one reference to each game should definitely be used. Citing the name of the source while using references should also be used as it will help in determining what sources are used and if they are credible.
Noting PS3 launch titles should be left out. November 17th is coming fast and it really isn't going to matter whether one game is a launch title or not.
Noting PS3 first, second, and third party titles is best left in the games' respective articles.
Noting whether games are multiplatform is best left in the games' respective articles as well.
Rumored titles should never be included. It breaks the policy of what Wikipedia is not, and Wikipedia is not a cystal ball. Ceros 03:18, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Here's a very helpful link. It has lists for games from all the major consoles. Browsing through the lists themselves reveals the release date for each game in the US. Clicking on each game shows both the developer and publisher of each game, most of the time. Ceros 03:46, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
Here's another link. This one shows the developer and publisher for every game listed. Ceros 04:27, 28 October 2006 (UTC) Forgot to mention that it's user submitted however. Ceros 04:29, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
I think the best format to use is the List of Virtual Boy games. It's a featured list and I think all lists for console games should be setup this way or look similar to it. Each game title should include it's developer, publisher, release date, and a reference. The list for PS3 games is already going that direction with the developers and publishers. It should be presented as a series of tables just like with the List of PlayStation 1 games. Each title is entered followed by a reference to it with no words, numbers, or space. The developer, publisher, and release dates will go on the same row for the title. Finally, a reference section should contain information about all websites that are used as references. Having a reference section instead of naming each site in the embedded links does make the list a lot more neater. Besides, there are only about seven sites that are used, and one site is used for almost every game (IGN). Ceros 23:16, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Kingdom Hearts III

Kingdom Hearts 3 has not been announced, thats only speculation. Its also not available for other consoles, so their shouldn't be a "*" next to it. I've removed it from the page.Vibriante 6:03 PM, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

it isnt speculation when you beat Kingdom Hearts II it gives you a trailer, and during an interview it was stated that it will be in works, but only after a certain project that they are going to work on Maigokunshu 04:16, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Tetsuya Nomura has stated the he will reveal Kingdom Hearts 3 this year, so it should be added to the list of games, especially when stuff on the list such as God of War 3 isnt official yet.

Unless you can find a citation, it will remain OFF of this list. The Ðark Crusader 18:28, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

I did but it still gets deleated. Kingdom Hearts 3 has not been announced. In the secret ending videos for Kingdom Hearts 2, there was no mention of a "Kingdom Hearts III" the same way as "Kingdom Hearts II" was flashed across the screens in the ending videos for Kingdom Hearts 1. It is speculated that since the trailers do not say "Kingdom Hearts III", the next KH game will be a spin-off. (LeetAmerico 17:05, 17 August 2007 (UTC))

References: Improvement

I was wondering if it would be a good idea to follow in the footsteps of the Nintento Wii video game list in which each game has atleast one reference per game entry. The key/symbols would also help out in identfitying which are unannounced or have just been mentioned. Another thing I noticed was that the list is kinda outdated and many of the games have nothing on them. Hopefully we have clear out the red links with maybe a sentence or two of content if possbile. -- unregistered user, 17 May 2005

Winning Eleven

Last time I checked, it's only confirmed for 360 and Wii, and PS3 version hasn't even been mentioned. Remoming.

Also, people seem to be picking PS2 sagas, and adding 1 to the version. a good chunk of this games haven't been confirmed or even talked about. Facts, please.

Seiferalmas 17:24, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Winning Eleven has been confirmed to being developed for the PS3. The title is uncertain however. IGN Ceros 02:06, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Games that are totally unconfirmed.

Not counting the long list of games I don't know about, after E3, there are a few games here that are complete rumors, and have not been announced yet.

I'm putting a list here, please confrim these games or delete them. (maybe some of them have been confirmed, that's why I'm not deleting them right now)

Alone in the Dark 5 (working title) - Atari * wiki article lists PS3 version as MIA, and unconfirmed by Atari, rumor, so please delete.

Ape Escape (Next Gen) - SCE FP unannounced

Bomberman - Hudson * tis a Wii exclusive. no Bomberman announced on E3 for PS3

Burnout Revenge - Electronic Arts* PS2, not PS3

Colin McRae Rally '07 (working title) - Codemasters unannounced.

Driver 5 (working title) - Atari * unannounced

Gradius VI - Konami * unannounced, at least on E3

King of Fighters: Maximum Impact 3 - SNK Playmore * I'm quite sure this wasn't announced for PS3, just in "some console"

Naruto: Narutimate Hero 4 - Bandai unannounced

Silent Hill 5 - Konami read the article. Not announced for ANY console yet.

That's all. some games need name updated, too...

Seiferalmas 17:41, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Please read the views expressed in the 'References: Improvement' section above. I believe that is our best solution to resolving this issue. Personally, I think most of those titles should stay.

  • "Ape Escape PS3" was listed as "Sarugechu PS3 [Untitled]" on IGN with hardly any details on the project except for this article, "New Ape Escape in the Works.
  • "Bomberman PS3", "Driver PS3", "Alone in the Dark 5", "King of Fighters: Maximum Impact 3" was confirmed by Sony at the Tokyo Game Show 2005. Sony Confirms 102 PS3 Games
  • "Burnout: Revenge" has, to my information, not been announced for the PS3. It seems that it is just wishful thinking in that it will be a Xbox 360-ported version.
  • "Colin McRae Rally '07", aka "CMR '07", was listed as being unannouned in one article by IGN back when it wasn't listed for any console. It seems to have been officially confirmed for the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360 according to my research.
  • "Naruto: Narutimate Hero 4" is a possibility in the near future, but hasn't been officially as of May 2005.
  • "Silent Hill 5" was officially announced through its publisher, but was confirmed to be in development by several outside sources. Although unconfirmed for a specific console, it has been widely excepted to be for the PS3.

Then bomberman was taken off in last E3 (Nintendo exclusivity). Alone in the DArk 5 was lately told off by Atari, according to the article

Anyway, yeah, that's the best solution

For now, I'm removing the unannounced ones... also, there are a couple of Tom Clancy games (except for Vegas, the two of them) that haven't been announced for PS3 neither.

Please keep these things without speculation. this is a ENCYCLOPEDIA, not a rumour collection. Personally, you should go for the list of WIi games approach, in my opinion. Seiferalmas 08:27, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
Stop readding those games, unless you can post damn PROOF that they are PS3 games. redeleting them. Also, some anonymus user added HalfLife 2 and three other unconfirmed games to the list. deleting. Seiferalmas 10:50, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
I've compiled a list of PS3 games according to various game list of IGN, Gamespot, etc. But, unfortunately, it lacks indications if projects are multi-platform, rumoured, and so on and also links confirming their existence. May I post the list? -- unregistered user, 25 May 2006
Done it. Someone will need to provide links and the keys next to the titles though. -- unregistered user, 25 May 2006
Got done looking for references at IGN. There are still a lot of games that need some reference especially in the 'S' section. I left tags next to each game without a source. If anyone is willing to look for a source for those games, feel free. I'm not going to delete them unless I come across an article stating that those games have been cancelled, denied, whatever.

Broken Saints

Not entirely confirmed (the old demo trailer from years ago said 'coming to next-gen consoles', and since I personally know the founder of Gnosis/creator of the BS license, I wouldn't jump the gun on putting it on the list..however, I'll leave it be, but I redirected the name to the broken saints wiki page for the animated series)

The mis-use of the asterisk (*). Many exclusive games are marked otherwise.

  1. Redwood Falls- Kuju *
  2. Rengoku: The End of the Century *
  3. Ridge Racer 7- Namco *
  4. Untitled Rockstar Old West Game *
  5. Romance of the Three Kingdoms PS3- Koei *
  6. Silent Hill 5 (working title) *
  7. Tekken 6 - Namco *

Just the first little section I looked at^

All are either exclusive or unannounced for other systems but are marked otherwise. Some Sony published games are even marked as coming to other platforms.

It seems someone has methodically gone through and marked down everything that does not have the FP symbol as multiplatform, and this is very, very incorrect.

I will fix some now, but I will probably miss some.

PS: 'FP' is also missing in many cases.

Any game that is exclusive, first party, multi-platform, and so on should be noted in their respective articles, not on the list. The only thing that should be noted is whether the game is (untitled) or a (working title). Ceros 02:26, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Silent Hill 5

Silent Hill 5 has NOT been announced for any console, as of yet there are only rumors and speculation. Also, remember that wikipedia is built upon only verifiable information that may be proven with citing sources, a page on IGN stating that it may appear on the PS3 is just as much proven that it may also appear on the Xbox 360 (several pages state that it may also appear on Microsofts console as well). And for this reason we need to leave it off the list of games for both consoles until an OFFICIAL announcement has been made. I must also add that we should leave the "platforms" part of SH5's page as Unspecified. SpinePastry 19:12, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Factor 5 project #1 has been listed in the "Untitled games" list... However, it is in the list because IGN lists "Factor 5 Project #2". Change to List of Virtual Boy games table format.

If nobody minds, I'm going to change this list to follow the same formatting as the List of Virtual Boy games. Here's what it would look like.

Title Developer Publisher Release dates
100 Bullets D3 Productions D3 Productions November 17, 2006
2 Days to Vegas Steel Monkeys Steel Monkeys November 17, 2006
211 Gaia Industries Gaia Industries November 17, 2006
6GUN II BattleBorne BattleBorne November 17, 2006

Yes, the developers and publishers for those titles are probably not correct and the release date is totally made up. I'm just showing an example of what it would look like in the end. References to any website used will go at the bottom of the entire list. Here's another example of what the whole list would look like. If nobody objects, I'll go ahead and set this up. Ceros 00:49, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

It's done. Updated the first two sections as well. I also added an external links section for reference to websites which has information about all these games in this list. Ceros 03:53, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Exclusivity

Can we add a column indicating whether a title is slated to be a PS3 exclusive? This was a tag before, but the tag (asterisk) was misunderstood and misused.69.231.236.132 23:25, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

That's something best left in a category or another list. The main points of this list is to show who (developers, publishers), what (titles), when (release dates), and where (PlayStation 3). This list is part of the WikiProject Computer and video games. The goal is primarily to set a baseline for all articles. The List of Virtual Boy games I think is the baseline for any list of console games because it shows who, what, when, and where. It's what this PS3 games list is based off of. Maybe an article for the comparison of PS3 games should be created with columns for whatever detail about PS3 games that may be worth mentioning (exclusives, games that run 1080p, etc.). The Comparison of audio codecs is a good example of this type of article. Ceros 03:12, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

Organize List by Release Date

I believe it would make more sense to organize the list by release date. Especially for those games that haven't been released yet. This would allow users to look at what games are going to be released soon. This would also promote to the grouping by Generation for games that is used as industry comparison of games. If someone is looking for a specific game, they can use the "find on page" function in their browser (which is quite nice in Firefox). Better yet, all lists on Wikipedia should be able to be reorganized by which ever column they choose. This, of course, would require a bit more than rewriting the article, but it's a wish. Andrew 20:59, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

I think this an excellent idea, but I can see why alphabetical is better also. I prefer by date myself. People looking for a specific game can visit that game's wiki. Cmsjustin 21:46, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Cost

Is their any average cost of the games?--Herb-Sewell 21:01, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

I don't believe any have gone above or below 59.99$, except for the Network games. If we average the cost of the games that are here we will get a number smaller than 59.99$, leading people to believe the price is about that, which it is not for the main PS3 games.--WhereAmI 01:21, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Konami Cancellations

According to this site Konami canceled 5 titles; Gradius, Coded Arms: Assault, Jikkyou Pawafuru Puro Yakyuu, an action game and a RPG. This cite claims Famitsu as the source. No official confirmation has been made by Konami. Until then, do not delete the games, as it is nothing more than a rumor.--WhereAmI 22:49, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Here is the IGN website that confirms the massive canellations for the Playstation 3: http://ps3.ign.com/articles/754/754307p1.html I listed the word "Cancelled" next to a couple of games, but I actually think it might be better to entirely remove those games from this list now that Konami has officially cancelled them. Mike mgoblue 23:11, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Rumor: Warhawk downloadable

More rumors flying around. No-name sites are reporting Warhawk has been canceled. Until trusted sources are reporting, do not change it. It is not really canceled, according to the rumor, fanboy sites like Digg.com just put CANCELED in the title so the audience don't buy a PS3 thinking there are no games. The game according to the rumor is now a down loadable, which is not canceled at all. Not even close to being canceled.--WhereAmI 05:03, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

A trusted site called Kotaku confirms it is not cancelled/downloadable. Kotaku is usually right, especially when RUMOR is not in the headline. Or a question. At any rate, unless you have IGN, gamespot, or Sony themselves confirming it, it is NOT cancelled/downloadable. Check out: http://kotaku.com/gaming/warhawk/warhawk-definitely-not-cancelled-229480.php --WhereAmI 02:55, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

As the feedback has been quite positive, I plan to update the table so it'll look like the one at List of Wii games, as it not only has more information for the reader, but is also sortable. Any help would be appreciated. --Conti| 23:41, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Hey Conti and all other PS3 contributors. Seeing as how you're adopting the format we created in the List of Wii games, thought I'd let you know that I had requested a reassessment of the article now that it had sortable tables. The use of sortable tables is a big plus, but it was suggested that the introduction be much improved (you'll see that it has already been modified slightly) and that the source links be contained within the game article itself if it exists. Check out the comments here as I believe some of the feedback may be helpful to you guys as well. Oh and quick note-The Godfather: Don'e Edition is Exclusive to the PS3 in the same regards that we have The Godfather: Blackhand Edition exclusive to the Wii. It's prone to debate I'm sure, but it's got a different title so hey. Take care. -68.181.225.103 02:36, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, I've edited the intro a bit and changed the Godfather bit. Going to add sources to the release dates soon! --Conti| 23:33, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

A complete mess

This is the sloppiest article I've ever seen on something so high in profile. It needs a complete rewrite. I mean A-Q are listed as one batch, then R-Z is split up by letter. Why? Then you have a ton of TBA stuff without references, and it's all mixed in with the released stuff. Here's my suggestion for formatting to make it a little easier. It should be in 4 sections. Released (NA), Released (JP), Released (EU), and Upcoming Releases. Any in upcoming should have a reference, especially if you're putting a date. The lists for each section might become so large that you'll want individual articles for each. (See for an example List of Virtual Console titles)

Good luck on the clean up. --Jmeriot 21:12, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Please see two sections above, I'm currently changing the table format to reflect List of Wii games (that's how it's supposed to look like when I'm done). The new table format easily covers the release date for the three big markets, so I see no reason to create additional articles. Any help with updating the table would be appreciated, of course. --Conti| 21:32, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

The 102 confirmed games list from IGN

In working through the article to convert it to the new tableformat, I've encountered numerous games whose only source seems to be this list from September 2005. Most of these only have a Japanese release date, "31 December 2006", which is, obviously, already over. I'm tempted to simply remove those games as long as I can't find any additional sources for them, but I'd rather ask here first if ther are any objections to that. --Conti| 23:32, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Release Dates

Just browsing the list I see that a number of games have release dates listed that pre-date the release of the system for that region. Does anyone know if there is a reason for this, or are they just odd typos? -Telvin 3d 00:56, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Hmm, IGN and Gamespot often contradict themselves when it comes to release dates. I've updated the list, as a release date with the launch of the console seems to be more realistic. A few games have been released before the PS3 lauch tho, it seems. --Conti| 18:29, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Few Updates

Hey Conti, PS3 wikipedians-

Glad you guys go the new table format implemented, it looks good. Just to let you know, over at the Talk:List of Wii games we decided to split the two lists and created a separate page for the List of Untitled Wii Projects. Check out the discussion that was held and the reasons are scattered throughout. You might want to do the same for the List of PS3 games, especially if aiming for A-list status/FL status.

Also, you may note that the Talk Page has gone through an overhaul itself-two new sections were added: a FAQ and a Table Guidelines section. I'd suggest copying this over and putting it on your Talk Page as well, it should help educate Wikipedians about the new format and such.

Oh yeah-probably should archive some of the stuff on this talk page as well-let it focus on newer discussion. As you know, if there's anything I can help out with let me know on my talk page. I'll be working on the List of Wii games, pushing for Featured List status. -Digiwrld1 04:04, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

No region protection

According to play-asia.com the games for PS3 still say "Japan" or "US" version of the game but it says "No region protection". Does this mean that I can buy a Japanese version of a game and play it perfectly fine on an American PS3?

Yes it does. There is NO REGION LOCKING for PS3 games. I have Region 3, Region 1, and Region 4 games, and they all play on my Japanese PS3. This fact should probably be reflected in editor priorities for adding information here. --Shannonr 04:43, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

The table listed it as January 2007, I changed it to January 2008 since the page for inFamous lists 2008 as the release date. --The Virginian 00:12, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Americas sorting

The sorting by date doesn't seem to work for the Americas column. (It works for Europe.) I don't know how it works or how to fix it, but can somebody? Thanks. Sxp151 15:59, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

I tried changing the formatting to to fix the problem but it didn't work.Bakarocket 10:21, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Anyone figure out why the sorting doesn't work for America?

I have no idea what's wrong, and I don't want to search through the code for the single missing bracket. Anyone know how to find the problem?-- Bakarocket 11:19, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

I think it has something to do with America being the last colum in the row.
There is maybe something wrong with the code in the end of the first row of the table.

I found out an error some where between Infamous and Killzone 2 because i tryed deleteing all before Infamous and it still was not wokrking and then i deleted all before Killzone 2 and the button for america did work. But Just deleting all between Famous and killzone 2 did not works. So i would think there are 2 or more errors. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Moskeet1986 (talkcontribs) 12:55, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

This has now been fixed, the error was in two titles, Infamous and The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, The error was in the American release date, an "|" symbol was needed before the date. People have to be more careful. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Moskeet1986 (talkcontribs) 13:26, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks Moskeet--Bakarocket 23:04, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Games Confirmed by via Game Conventions

When games have been confirmed by their respective publisher in gaming conventions (such as Tokyo Game Show, E3 etc... or what have you). Do not delete the game's entry. I added Naruto, because it was confirmed on Tokyo Game Show's convention via Namco Bandai.

Please, do not delete the entry. Thank you. Zeta26 20:28, 25 September 2007 (UTC).

Templates/Dates/Chronology

The number of templates exceeds the max, which makes the table look retarded. I recommend only having the earliest release date, and leave the individual dates to the specific game pages. This would also solve the merging with Chronology of PlayStation 3 games, since it could be sorted by release date. MrKIA11 02:01, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

MGS4 Release Date

I noticed someone put the Metal Gear Solid 4 release date as 30 March 2008 (with no citation included). I am asking someone to confirm this because if this is true, then it will be coming out on March 30 for the US and Asia as well because it's a simultaneous release. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.34.217.222 (talk) 23:58, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

To Fix the Template Limits problem

I fixed the same problem over on the List of Xbox 360 games page. You have to expand one of the templates. I expanded the Dts tempalte on the 360 games page and it ends up looking like this: "<span style="display:none">02006-04-24</span>[[24 April]] [[2006]]". So if someone wants to go through and replace the dts template with that while filling in the dates for each game the problem will be fixed. Silver Sonic Shadow 15:42, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Trophy Support

Someone should add a column saying whether each game has trophy support or not. Looking to the future!--Mottylufc (talk) 18:27, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Merger

This page should be merged with Chronology of PlayStation 3 games. See List of Wii games for how it should be done. TJ Spyke 04:15, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

In the List of Wii games it's not possible to list the games in order of first release irregardless of region as is the standard practice in Chronology of PlayStation 3 games. Konangrit 06:59, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

The only difference I see between Chronology of PlayStation 3 games and List of Wii games is that the earliest dates are bolded. I don't know how you can list the games in order irregardless of region in Chronology of PlayStation 3 games.--Stef Nighthawk 09:59, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
I don't see how this does not already encompass the Chronology of PlayStation 3 games, as you can sort by the date. The only difference is that the Chronology of PlayStation 3 games is pre-sorted by that. It is also seems like twice as much work to keep updating both pages. MrKIA11 23:10, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Merge.--Kozuch (talk) 18:13, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Weak do not merge A decision on this needs to be made. the merge tag was removed off Chronology of PlayStation 3 games a long, long time ago. This article is bloated (>100k), the chronology section should be removed and let them continue with the other article (imo). xenocidic (talk) 16:34, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Weak do not merge Just dump the chronology page altogether. --The Virginian (talk) 16:38, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

720p, 1080i, 1080p

I think it would be hugely helpful to list the resolutions that PS3 games natively output at. Many people will be upgrading to new TV hardware in this next cycle, and such information would really help with that decision. I note that similar PS2 information is here: List of Progressive Scan PS2 Games. --Shannonr 04:43, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

I agree this would be useful info but then you would also have to add info about support for online-play, mouse/keyboard, microphones (ie. Singstar), buzzers, webcams (eyetoy), etc... (required or optional). --Stef Nighthawk 08:46, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Added a "Picture format" column.--Kozuch (talk) 11:42, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Perhaps instead of that, a column stating whether it supports 1080i? The biggest issue with the PlayStation 3 seems to be that users of HDTVs that do not support 720p but do support 1080i (mainly owners of older HDTVs) are unable to display their games in 1080i either, thus being forced to display in 480p.--Retro083 —Preceding comment was added at 21:46, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
yes the resolution is helpful to users. i suggest to use 720p or 1080p, there is no 1080i games. most are 720p (or sub-720 like Haze and GTAIV to name a few) others are 1080p like RR7, VT3, GT5P, etc. Synchronicity I (talk) 13:21, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

games not yet released....

most of the games listed here r not yet out.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.92.177.28 (talk) 12:29, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, that is one point of this list. So people can find games that are under devolopment including titles that is out.--Arthur 2045 (talk) 23:51, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Two lists of games.

I think we should have two list of playstation 3 games, one chronologicle an one alphabeticle. Because they both give the hole picture of games in two diferent informical ways. And I want it to be in to seperate lists, if else it going to be a terrible long article in some years. Anyone agree or disagree?

--Arthur 2045 (talk) 15:40, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

see Chronology of PlayStation 3 games. xenocidic (talk) 16:04, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Who honestly wants a chronological list? who really cares what (for example) the 168th game to be released for the console is? its not needed IMO. the only ones that need mention are first and last, and maybe 100th etc. Now both lists are on one page its pointless and confusing.
Chocobogamer (talk) 12:01, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Picture format

Added a "Picture format" column. This should help users to gain a quick overview of game's rendering resolution (e.g. 720p, 1080i, 1080p). This is helpful when considering a purchase of a new TV set.--Kozuch (talk) 11:45, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Star Ocean 4

Star Ocean 4 is in the list as a PS3 exclusive, and although the game itself has been announced its platform let alone exclusivity have not. Even the IGN article which is linked as a reference (IGN: Star Ocean 4) has a note stating "exact system plans have not been released". Therefore I am removing Star Ocean 4 from the list. Fenikkusuzero (talk) 03:22, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Sorry about the mix-up...

I tried to edit the article from my PS3's Internet browser... it was a tiny edit, removing a redundancy, so I was rather complacent, failing to notice the PS3 had deleted 9/10 of the page... I MEANT NO HARM, NO VANDALISM and I am so grateful Cluebot reverted it. Don't hate me. I can't do anything right.  :( —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.203.239.39 (talk) 03:37, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Don't sweat it - these things happen. Have you considered creating an account? xenocidic (talk) 03:41, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

the two lists - a possible resolution

how about this: using the alphabetical list, somebody adds an extra, sortable, column which can be 'earliest release' (which, as it says on the tin, contains the earliest release worldwide) or something similar, so annyone interested in the chronology can use it, and we only keep the one list, thus avoiding confusion and insane file sizes. if everyone can post their opinion, and if its generally accepted, can someone do it? thanks Chocobogamer (talk) 20:36, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

other than adding a new column to an already pretty crowded table, i suppose it would work. xenocidic (talk) 23:52, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
thanks for the input :) I realise it would be crowded, but it beats having 2 different tables with the same info, and it wasn't that long ago the table had pointless columns such as picture format and HD mode, so it wont be quite as bad IMO. Chocobogamer (talk) 09:04, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

see this for what I mean :) Chocobogamer (talk) 23:24, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Metal Gear Online

Why does this article continue to list it as a separate game when the Metal Gear Online Article itself says the folloing:

While the previously released Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops featured optional online game modes that were both dubbed Metal Gear Online, this incarnation of the online game was initially announced as a separate stand-alone product based on the Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots gameplay and setting, but has since been announced as part of Metal Gear Solid 4.

--The Virginian (talk) 01:00, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Currently its available to download seperately from MGS4, you could change the listing to Metal Gear Online: Premiere Beta. its still worth mentioning. Chocobogamer (talk) 11:47, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Addition

I added in an extra entry for Folklore just now in the HDD installation section. The game has an option HDD install which is 1058MB in size. Admeister200x (talk) 12:58, 21 May 2008

I just added an entry for Bayonetta, which was announced recently. Admeister200x (talk) 2:48, 26 May 2008

Split

Should we split the this page into two different ones for example one page should be # - N the 2nd should be O - Z .--Lbrun12415 04:22, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

No definitely not. that would be silly and would negate navigations. my solution is below Chocobogamer (talk) 23:24, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

my solution demonstrated

the easiest way to save space and file size would be to cut out the seperate chrono table. I question the need for it at all, but there could easily be a single column in the main table "first release" then the date and flag. this would almost half the file size, its stupid being 2 different tables with the exact same information. this is, imo, the best way to house the information in this article:

Title and Source Developer Publisher Japan Japan Europe Europe USA United States First Released Exclus.
Armored Core 4 [2] From Software Sega Dec 21, 2006 [3] Jun 22, 2007 [4] Mar 20, 2007 [5] Dec 21, 2006 Japan No

Having exclusivity at the end too, rather than the random position it currently is. All I can say is that this article needs a helluva lot of work! Also, I'd suggest using shorter date, like shown, too, to save space for the title etc. Also means you don't have to bold the earliest releases on each line What do you think of my idea? be kind. lol Chocobogamer (talk) 23:24, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

seperate updated game and hd page

PlayStation 3 game updates & install sizes. To help the file size I thought it might be better to have a seperate article detailing hard drive installs and game updates, rather than having them on the list of games page. This is because I feel they may be relevant to be linked to from other articles, such as system software updates (adding DS3 compat), and rather than making someone going to a 110K page, they go to a much smaller page. I have not removed the table detailing the hard drive installs from this page yet, and have only added one game to the updated games list. I didn't want to waste too much time, and I wanted everyone's opinion on having these lists seperate. thanks. Chocobogamer (talk) 22:39, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

deleting the chrono list etc

righty, I have deleted the chronological list from this page. well i say deleted it, i've moved it to archive 2 of the talk page. (i know it can be undone but its so other changes can be done inbetween if it is decided to be restored). i believe that as it is still on a seperate page it is silly having it here also. i have also moved to there the hard drive install sizes, as i have created a seperate article. i didnt want to just delete them so they have been archived :) it is not vandalism, these pages exist seperately. please dont class it as, as it will be a massive amount removed. a seperate chronological list is silly anyway, it should only be alphabetical. if a release is pushed back it means you have to move the row. Chocobogamer (talk) 00:47, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

also just moved the working title games to a seperate page :) Chocobogamer (talk) 00:52, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Resolution

I'm not sure the resolution section is relevant to the article, as it clearly states LIST of PS3 games, and their respective release dates. This only takes the page even longer to load as it already does, and I think it should be removed.--EclipseSSD (talk) 16:28, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
