Finnigan[edit]

It isn't "listing the particulars of resignations" to correctly specify the party someone was part of at the time of their resignation. Bernard Finnigan had not been a Labor member for four years when he resigned, and it is both grossly wrong and grossly biased against Labor, considering why Finnigan had been removed from the party, to imply otherwise. Thus, how an independent was replaced by appointment by a Labor member is something that needs explaining to the average reader. The same needs to happen any time a member is replaced by appointment by someone of a different party, rather than misleading readers by intentionally claiming something that is false for the sake of neater tables. I can see the point of changing Finnigan's affiliation to independent, but I would have thought the content earlier in the article would have covered any need for a note: "The constitution also states that if the previous sitting Legislative Council member was at the time of his/her election the representative of a particular political party, that party should nominate a replacement from amongst its own members.[1]" Anywho, in a compromise i've tightened the note to the essentials.
