The article fails to mention whether the app does all communication via TLS. Hopefully yes, but the article should say. — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 02:55, 23 September 2013 (UTC)

offline Wikipedia readers[edit]

Is there an article that discusses offline Wikipedia readers?

I see a few offline Wikipedia readers mentioned in this "list of Wikipedia mobile applications" article, and a few others mentioned at Wikipedia: Database download. --DavidCary (talk) 14:49, 26 March 2015 (UTC)

I was reading this and noticed it says iOS "also has read-only" or some such confusing language. Help:Mobile access (WP:IPHONE) says that the iPhone version allows editing. Not having an iPhone I won't be examining this myself, so I'd appreciate if someone could check and then edit the article appropriately. Wnt (talk) 00:34, 11 July 2017 (UTC)

Hi, I'm from the Galician Wikipedia and some users had reported that there are some translation issues at Wikipedia app. Could somebody tell me where are the translation pages? Bye, Elisardojm (talk) 07:16, 5 May 2018 (UTC)

Dead Links[edit]

The first reference "Wikipedia Beta on Google Play". Google Play. now a dead link.

The following link may be a good replacement: however it may be best to comb through the web archives for the most recently updated version before it was taken down.

I can do this when I have a better internet connection (or you [anyone] can do it). Other references may be dead links as well.

Neuralnewt (talk) 16:03, 29 August 2018 (UTC)

I have realized that the problem was that my University student account is blocking Google Play, not that the links are dead.

Not done: please provide links to independent WP:RS sources that cover your app. feminist (talk) 18:17, 1 November 2018 (UTC)

Sorry, I am new to requesting edits to Wikipedia pages. I am the author of this app. Here a discussion on ProductHunt that qualifies as a reference in my opinion: [1]

link rot Random Wiki app[edit]

Random Wiki app linking to is no more. Google Play reports there is no such app. Did some research and found that this link has been archived from 2014-2017 on Dbfyinginfo (talk) 10:28, 8 November 2018 (UTC)

@Dbfyinginfo:  Done Thank you for the info. I have removed the item. – The Grid (talk) 19:47, 15 November 2018 (UTC)

Please add WikiTrip for iOS to list of unassociated apps[edit]

Not done: The source you provided above appears to be user-generated content, since it looks like you're the one who created the post and the rest is just user comments and reviews. What we're looking for is a source where someone else completely independent from you has written about WikiTrip. Please review WP:Identifying reliable sources. ‑‑ElHef (Meep?) 16:53, 18 November 2018 (UTC)

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. DannyS712 (talk) 19:47, 31 January 2019 (UTC)

Status of Firefox OS app[edit]

Resolved: References to Firefox OS version have been removed

My understanding is that Firefox OS has been discontinued and the Firefox Marketplace (the platform's app store) has been shut down. Is the Firefox OS app still available anywhere? I couldn't find it at nor on the Wikimedia GitHub. I suspect the Firefox OS subsection should just be removed, unless anyone thinks it's historically noteworthy. I'm failing to see any dates after 2014. Is this directory out of date? Jim.henderson (talk) 16:22, 23 February 2019 (UTC)

@Jim.henderson: Looks like there's a few sneaky updates within this folder but there seems to also be a github page as well – The Grid (talk) 17:16, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

Incorrect links to repositories[edit]

The links to the repositories for the different apps highlighted in the Infoboxes seem to be incorrect. They all are pointing to the Wikipedia iOS app's repository. The link seems to be coming from Wikidata. I'm not sure how this Infobox - Wikidata interaction works as a consequence of which I couldn't fix this by myself. It would be nice if someone could review and fix this somehow. Please ping me when replying. Thanks! - - Kaartic correct me, if i'm wrong 14:58, 11 May 2019 (UTC)
