This number includes spinoffs. Dragon ball circulation is way off according to diferent sources. for example shueisha said in 2009 that it was at 350M copies in circulation (without spin offs)

Dragon ball circulation is a massive problem, we have multiple official sources saying multiple numbers.Wikipedia doesn't take scans as a source so we cannot use that. Hopefully a new circulation will be announced with the upcoming movie. If there's any new circulation posted by a Japanese news site please feel free to update it or post here if you cannot edit. Dragon Ball 300 million

It has been confirmed by former editor of Akira Toriyama that Dragon Ball has sold over 300 million, yes it counts spin-offs and sequels but it would not be appropriate to put "260-300" to show that it sold over 260 and under 300 without needing to use a specific number? Based on the reliable sources from Japan, the worldwide cumulative circulation of Dragon Ball manga (included the sequels) is 260 million copies. These sources are very updated and in March 2022. Dragon Ball total circulation is 260 million copies

Until right now in this date, there are no official japanese sources or any japanese reliable source announcing that the total worldwide circulation of Dragon Ball is 300 million copies. There is actually, Toei is not the publisher so it cannot update it and haven't went through the effort to do so. In Dragon ball Kai 2009 exhibition Shueisha said it was at 350M. and Recently Toshirama (Dragon ball Editor) has said it sold over 300M counting spin-offs. Also official sales reports from countries have it way above 260M. Usually when there is an official updated sales of manga, they will release it on an article, either by Shuiesha or Oricon. Until right now, there is no official websites or articles in Japan that proves that it is now 300+ million copies. Some posting it like the Dragon Ball editor saying the 300 million copies but there is no confirming article regarding about it by Oricon or others (Yahoo or MantanWeb). Even japanese wikipedian users knew about it too that's why they did not updated the sales in the Dragon ball wikipedia japanese page. Until right now, it is still in 260 million copies. The 300 mil number comes from the total number for the entire series which includes Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Super + Spinoffs. evidence translated on this tweet It will be tough to work out exactly what the number is supposed to be per vol etc, but from my perspective it makes the most sense to at least have have the mainline series numbers collated here. So it would be more accurate to have the numbers be at least DB+Z+S. As this number was published in August of 2021 right after the latest copies of the manga went on sale on the 4th, the table should have the end date updated to be ongoing, and the total number of volumes at that time in August 2021 would have been 16(DB)+26(Z)+16(S) = 58 and the average sales per volume at 5.17 million.

This number most likely also includes the SD spinoff, so if we wanted to be extra accurate we could also include the 7 volumes of DB SD and would put the numbers at 16(DB)+26(Z)+16(S)+7(SD)=65 total volumes, putting the the average sales per volume at 4.62 mil.

@Alec Arma@IdolShipsThere has been multiple announcements of higher numbers than 260m and 300m. Shueisha themselves announced in 2008 they had 350M in circulation. Even Oricon said so again Here (https://www.oricon.co.jp/news/61072/full/) as well as The Mainichi Shimbun and Dragon ball Evolution marketing material.

Publishers numbers also point to over 300m copies. Its clear that Dragon Ball has sold over 300m copies at this point. This is without counting in bootleg versions which add 100m+ of sales. And I don't agree with adding Super to Dragon ball volume amount. For the same reason we don't add Boruto volumes to Naruto's. WillsEdtior777 (talk) 12:46, 5 September 2022 (UTC)

WillsEdtior777 I have looked over the source for the 100 million claim and it is just grey market estimations, not an official number (which is obvious, since I'm not sure who would even be able to report on bootleg copies).
