Problems with the list[edit]

There appear to be problems with this list. It includes species that are not recorded in the 2007 Монгол орны шувууны зүйлийн нэрийн арван щэлний толь (Dictionary of Mongolian Bird Names in Ten Languages) published under the imprimatur of the State Nomenclature Council of Mongolia, Mongolian Academy of Sciences, Institute of Language and Literature, Applied Linguistic Sector, and the Institute of Biology Ornithological Laboratory.

I've only looked at a few parts, but for a start, none of the members of Crossoptilon are mentioned in the Mongolian dictionary. A quick check of C. auritum suggests that it does not occur in Mongolia -- perhaps Inner Mongolia, but not the country of Mongolia. Syrmaticus reevesi does not even appear to be found in Inner Mongolia. Perdix perdix does not appear in the Mongolian dictionary. Howard and Moore 2003 mention that it is found in Tuva, but does not mention Mongolia.

I'm therefore not sure exactly what this list is supposed to show. Birds of Mongolia (the country)? Birds of Mongolia and Inner Mongolia? Can someone come up with a clarification? At the moment it is both vague and misleading.

Yes, I' m agree. It's very strange list. For example:

Four species, one after another, and there are not any references, any external links. I was in Mongolia 5 times, and I' m sure that this is wrong. Too many mistakes Zorog (talk) 06:13, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
