Hi Mac! Was wondering where you got the figures you used in Big killer? Since this info is likely to change over time, we ought to mention the date these figures were published, and whether the figures are world-wide, or based on one country's death figures. This is all messed up.[edit]

This data is misleading because...

  • AIDS can cause cancer
  • diabetes can lead to heart attacks
  • AIDS can assist tuberculosis
  • neurological illness can cause traffic accidents
  • obesity can cause diabetes, and diabetes may cause obesity
  • obesity can cause heart problems
  • obesity can cause acid reflux, which can cause cancer
  • cancer can cause suicide

Death certificates lists the immediate cause of death as well as the underlying cause of death which is the data used for mortality statistics. See the External links of death certificate for more info. Petersam 07:25, 29 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Cellular aging as a cause of death[edit]

Currently the article states that an unknown number of people die due to cellular aging. Well, the rest of the causes listed add up to 78 percent. So wouldn't it be a fair estimation to approximate it to, say, 20 percent? --ZeroOne 23:54, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Cellular aging" is not a cause of death which is listed in the WHO report. It is not the same thing as "old age" and "old age" is not a cause of death. Everyone is listed as dying of something in particular, such as an infection, cancer, or a particular type of organ failure. The numbers do not add up to 100% because not all causes have been listed. -- Beland 22:04, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I went ahead and did the redirect. There is nothing really to merger into "List of causes of death by rate". The "List of causes of death by rate" article contains facts from the 2004 version of the same information as this one, thus it is more current.R00m c (talk) 00:38, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

World Health Organization deaths[edit]

"World Health Organization deaths" Vague in the extreme. Doesn't give any kinda of timescale. Daily? Monthly? Anually? What?

Prescription drugs[edit]

Vandalism?[edit]

I see somebody wrote "excluding abortion and euthanasia" (As in : By disease, conditions (Excluding abortion and euthanasia) 1.
