Besides Hofmeisters Monatsberichte, one should not forget RISM as a source for information about Lachner- they have 214 manuscript/score references listed for a search for Fr./Franz/François Lachner, including a number of works without opus number (also remember the works at the Bavarian Library in manuscript, some of which belong to known published works, others- the Andante in D for small orchestra- do not (I know I thought it belonged to the 6th symphony, but having heard the 6th since then, it's not a movement from that work- though I'd like to actually _hear_ the Andante in D - at least a MIDI version of it- to hear if perhaps it mightn't be a sketch for that work?... ... (a very, very fine Schubert-inspired symphony by the way- in my opinion one of the best of Lachner's works, certainly the best yet-unrecorded work of his I've heard, though there is a broadcast of his opera Catarina floating around I haven't heard yet that receives tremendous praise...) And now they have 708 entries - not all for different works, that's not how RISM works- listed under "Franz Paul Lachner" - suggesting enough music, however much fragmentary, that this list may not be entirely "complete"-really for all that I see that there's a complaint "hey, it's been 7 years, finish it up already", for some time yet...
