Untitled[edit]

I am currently in the process of writing this article, but it will take several weeks to finish. Once completed this humongous list is bound to have errors so feel free to patch it up if you have further information on any of the corps. War wizard90 16:40 26 January 2007

If you haven't already, you might want to look at the Drum and Bugle Corps of North America survey. corpsreps.com has a big list as well. A suggestion: you might want to make the title of the article indicate that it is about drum corps based in North America as opposed to Europe or Japan. The category of classic v.s. modern doesn't add much information IMHO but that's the model that been adopted here on Wikipedia. --Ambassadorhorn 20:23, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

27th Lancers[edit]

When you click on the link generated from the 27th Lancers' name, it goes to an article unrelated to the drum corps. It goes to the article for 'The 27th Lancers was a cavalry regiment of the British Army from 1941 to 1945.' Should the wiki link be removed or should a disambiguation page be created? Too much[edit]

Part of me, as a huge drum corps fan, thinks this page is a great idea. The rational part of me, however, thinks that you have bit off WAY more than you can chew with this page. If you look at CorpsReps' listings alone (CorpsReps Corps List), there are more than 2,100 corps listed already. On top of that, even the major DCI and DCA corps in many cases are lacking more than stub articles on Wikipedia...is it really worth it to create hundreds or thousands of articles on Wikipedia about corps that, to be fair, didn't really make much of a splash on drum corps history. Plus it will be a maintenance nightmare... I already see mistakes, like the fact that Austin Stars is a senior corps, not a junior corps.

I DO think there is a place for this kind of history to be recorded... on a different site like CorpsReps or DrumCorpsWiki.com. Just not here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JimBurnell (talk • contribs) 14:50, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If anyone else has interest in continuing this, I agree that we need to remove many of the corps from the list. I think a general guideline is to list corps that have been active in the past 5 year or who have a website, whether it be an official corps website or an alumni website for an inactive or defunct corps. This list is missing at least one DCI world class corps (Genesis) yet it has corps that were only active for a year and corps that we don't know when they were active. It would be best to focus on active corps, corps that recently went inactive, and historic corps that still have active alumni groups.DCIFanBED (talk) 18:31, 21 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Senior corps not listed[edit]

Although you listed their junior corps , you failed to list one of the most Respected senior corps Champions of the 40's / 50's; The Bristol Rangers from Bristol R.I. My father, Edward A. ( Hondu ) Sousa was one of the founding Members and played 1st soprano single valve slide Bugle, when he returned from The pacific in 1945/46.
