Reason for article[edit]

I started this list because I came across several articles with references to the size of clock faces, and the various claims to be "biggest", "second biggest", "once the biggest", "biggest in some region" didn't necessarily paint a consistent picture. Which IS the biggest?[edit]

It's not clear to me yet whether the Tehran clock or the Colgate Clock is the biggest. Various news items etc make the "biggest" claim for both of them. Anybody able to find more detailed facts? Stumps 15:50, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Al Bait Tower Clock is now listed the biggest. The clock seems to be there though the building is not ready yet. And buildings own article gives the height as 46 m, 3 meters more. Which one is right? 82.141.116.243 (talk) 14:38, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wither imperial units?[edit]

Not that they deserve to survive, but why did the unit conversion syntax get edited away in favor of strictly metric units?

Are they in decending Order?[edit]

They should be numbered and it should say they're in descending order right? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.48.0.2 (talk) 23:07, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Changed to table format[edit]

Just spent some time changing format of article to table. Checked sources for some at linked articles and sourced other citations. Removed one clock face with no citations found. If you can please help to improve this new formatting with additional citations. Will add a gallery when I get the chance. Gallery added. More photos would be great especially as two are from Switzerland. If you want to add more entries please be aware of the criteria at the top of the list. While not set in stone these criteria are based on the entries in the table. If you want to change the criteria please discuss here first. Thanks. I have just updated the list with photos. I have tried to use different photos to the ones that may be shown in the linked location article if available. Let me know what you think! Robynthehode (talk) 14:15, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This article might have some typos[edit]

As the image of the custom house shows 2 dials means it can have 2 or more dials but it shows 1. I already fixed the other one because the metlife tower does chime according to another wiki article about that. So please correct that if you know it. User3749 (talk) 04:27, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
