removing Bellingham Mariners players[edit]

If there are no objections, I'm going to remove persons in this list that played for this team. They happen to play for a minor league team.. this is not being "from" Bellingham, and is different than lists from other cities --Omarcheeseboro (talk) 18:14, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I do not object. The purpose of a List of people from Bellingham, Washington is to help readers see some names of people whose relationship to Bellingham is particularly notable, and hopefully to help readers understand something about the character of Bellingham based on who is associated. As far as i can tell, the membership in an athletic team which is associated with Bellingham does not necessarily tell us much about Bellingham's characteristics, and i can't see what useful information it's going to give to any readers at this time. Of course, there could be exceptions; but i don't personally know of any in this case. I suppose in some way it could have a small amount of relevance if compared to other employers and large institutions which operate and do business in Bellingham; but i don't see the Mariners' athletic team as comparable to Georgia-Pacific, WWU, etc. ~_{Teledildonix314}~^Talk~₄₁₁~ 22:14, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A couple years later, but I noticed that this list also includes subjects who went to Western Washington University. Again, I think this is a minor connection and not consistent with similar lists. If no one objects I will remove it shortly. --CutOffTies (talk) 14:24, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
