TV Movies

This article does not include TV movies produced by HBO. I'm not sure whether it should or not, I just wanted to note that after all my revisions. Irondavy 22:02, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Removal of Preacher

The preacher series has been cancelled, lookup the main Preacher article to find references

Hardcore TV

HBO's Hardcore TV is not the same as ECW Hardcore TV. A new article should be started for that show, or the link should point accordingly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.225.161.121 (talk) 06:33, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Spawn The Animated Series

What about spawn? wasn't the original spawn animated series debuted and made for HBO? 67.182.54.65 (talk) 10:12, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

It is already listed, under the "Past programming" section.Mca2001 (talk) 13:48, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Adam Mazer, who won an Emmy last year for penning the HBO made for TV movie You Don't Know Jack, has made a deal to write a pilot for the network based on Susanna Moore's book The Big Girls, which Joel Schumacher is in discussions to direct. Electus' Ben Silverman and Original Media's Charlie Corwin are producing. The novel centers on a young psychiatrist at a maximum security women's prison who attempts to treat the criminally insane while dealing with her own damaged psyche. Think: female version of Oz. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.70.76.149 (talk) 23:51, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Kids in the Hall?

Any particular reason Kids in the Hall isn't on this list, which is supposed to be rather complete? --24.46.117.162 (talk) 22:43, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

Added. Thanks for the heads up. Msw1002 (talk) 23:09, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency

Why is it that The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency is not included in the list of former HBO programs? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.170.229.159 (talk) 12:29, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

Miniseries and FIlms

I think the Past section should split off the miniseries and films. Jmj713 (talk) 18:57, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

The Far Pavilions

HBO's very first miniseries is missing from this list, The Far Pavilions (1984) which was a huge deal at the time in terms of scope and cost ($12M).

Also missing is the reason I discovered this poor excuse of a list, an Australia-set miniseries about paddle boats at the turn of the century with a female protagonist also from the mid-80's. Perhaps someone else can provide the name and insert both into this woeful list.

Found it: All the Rivers Run which also aired in 1984, however it was originally made for Australian TV as 2 separate mini-series. RoyBatty42 (talk) 09:07, 31 July 2012 (UTC)

The Boys From Baghdad

Why is this on this list? Shouldn't this be at List_of_HBO_Films? DerZensor (talk) 23:13, 16 September 2012 (UTC)

Is listed under "Past Programming". However, was listed under incorrect name. Now corrected. Msw1002 (talk) 23:31, 16 September 2012 (UTC)

UNDUE weight

This article is giving WP:UNDUE weight to items that are not even programming yet. The inclusion of things to be serves no encyclopedic value but does inappropriately turn Wikipedia into a free promotional platform. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 23:47, 31 July 2015 (UTC)

the gilded age

in the description for the gilded age it says that this show is being broadcast on nbc not HBO. Svrangerchrista (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 03:38, 20 September 2019 (UTC)

List of programs broadcast by HBOList of original programs broadcast by HBO – Unnecessary and un-useful scope of all programs broadcast by HBO, currently admitting its own impossibility to collate by vague lead description as a "partial listing". Needs to be restricted to programming commissioned by HBO only, allowing the reader to understand the significance of the shows listed and be a exhaustive list within newly set parameters. List of original programs distributed by Netflix gives precedent. U-Mos (talk) 01:40, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

– On review of Category:Lists of television series by network, there is very little consistency in article naming or scope. Streaming services list original programming only and use a different title formation, i.e. List of original programs distributed by Netflix. Other networks are generally named as lists of all broadcast programs, but many are structured to only list original programming. As the most substantially misleading matter, it seems sensible to begin tackling this rather than attempt all fixes in one fell swoop. The three articles in this nomination all only list original programming, despite their titles. Future work could and probably should move the streaming service lists to similarly WP:CONCISE titles and develop other network list pages into a WP:CONSISTENT format of commissioned programming only. U-Mos (talk) 22:31, 13 June 2020 (UTC)

  • Support. While there is no guideline on these list pages, a similar guideline for the network categories, MOS:TVCATS, says TV series should avoid network categories when they were not originally produced for that network. I believe these lists should be handled the same way and their scope limited. Adding endless amounts of syndicated and 2nd-run programs is pretty much pointless - unless it isn't, which in turn means that adding them to the categories is also useful. The names proposed also match the naming style at Category:American television series by network. --Gonnym (talk) 05:48, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
  • I'm also going to support, as I think the proposal is the most WP:RECOGNIZABLE and WP:CONCISE iteration of this. If this passes, I would definitely advocate moving articles like List of original programs distributed by Amazon and List of original programs distributed by Netflix similarly to List of Amazon original programming and List of Netflix original programming, respectively. --IJBall (contribstalk) 22:01, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
  • Support to align with the categories. Suggest tagging with {{List scope}} post-move if work needs to be done to remove non-original material. -- Netoholic @ 03:51, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
  • Support on condition that acquired programming will be removed from these sites. Picsovina (talk) 14:13, 19 June 2020 (UTC)

Euphoria and House of the Dragon release dates

As per WP:BRD, those edits that I did, are reverted, explain further. CastJared (talk) 12:33, 20 March 2023 (UTC)

The information you add needs to be supported by reliable sources, the sources you added on House of the Dragon and Euphoria are reliable, not don't support the content you changed. Need a source that explicitly says a release date, not just speculation, end of a season, etc. There isn't a release date yet so we just need to wait. Indagate (talk) 12:39, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
Per WP:SYNTH, Do not combine material from multiple sources to reach or imply a conclusion not explicitly stated by any source. Similarly, do not combine different parts of one source to reach or imply a conclusion not explicitly stated by the source. Indagate is correct we do not add info based on speculations. CastJared, you are adding info based on speculations here. — YoungForever(talk) 14:57, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
And speculated release date can't be added per WP:CRYSTALBALL and WP:NOTNEWS, according to @Drovethrughosts. CastJared (talk) 15:27, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
