Format[edit]

This list would work better in a single column, rather than the three columns it is now. It looks awful if your browser window is not maximized, or if, like me, you need larger type to read it. Right now, the three columns are of significantly different lengths. Isn't there some way to force columns to be the same length?

Also, right now, the list is no longer alphabetized. You can't just scroll down to find what you want. (Guess I'll just have to remember to use my browser's Find feature.) Isn't there some way to force all additions to appear in alphabetical order?

Maybe there is a bot that will drive by and fix it? 141.156.148.226 (talk) 00:33, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

System Defender[edit]

I'm just removing [this application] off a friend's computer. It seems it should be listed here. Not being a Windows person I don't know if it's just another name for a well-known bit of malware. Looks like my friend has been tricked into downloading it. Could someone who's more in touch add it to the article please? Chris55 (talk) 11:55, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Huh?[edit]

I'm on this list? Why? --Security Shield (talk) 02:01, 26 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Since it was unsourced and unlinked, I removed it for now. Mark Arsten (talk) 02:34, 26 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Misidentified/misclassified product - PC-Doctor[edit]

This wiki page lists PC-Doctor as rogue security software and categorizes it along with PC ProClean and PCDocPro. PC-Doctor is _NOT_ related to either of these companies nor is our software related to PC cleanup or security. PC-Doctor provides hardware diagnostics and system information tools for OEMs and would have been preloaded by the OEM onto any system containing our end-user software. Our product is not currently available for direct download by an end-user and should have never have been classified as malware or security software without thorough investigation. If you have any questions about our company, please see our website at www.pc-doctor.com and contact us through one of those links. Please immediately remove our name from this list. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.224.119.5 (talk) 17:37, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Removed PC-Doctor from this list since this was categorically misinformation. Hopefully others have done more research than whomever made that original list. Apologies for breaking any policies on this talk page. I was signed in but not sure how to add my signature. Hopefully my account shows up in this thread now! :) Croberts pcd (talk) 15:15, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Virus Killer[edit]

I remember seeing something, some time ago that was named that. Didn't see it on the list; It was a while ago so it could be gone by now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.160.194.136 (talk) 21:32, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Can we protect this page please?[edit]

It seems to me that the rogue software makers would know well of their respective mentions on the internet. Here is where they'd go first to 1. alter the page, and 2. obfuscate the dialog on the talk page here.Tgm1024 (talk) 13:45, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Major clean up[edit]

Everything on this list needs to either have an article or a source showing it is rogue security software. I removed all entries that did not have either an article or a source here. There are probably soem valid entries that got lost. Feel free to restore them with sources. Meters (talk) 19:08, 19 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've done another sweep. Meters (talk) 18:48, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

İts Joke?[edit]

Bit Defender on the list Are you Joke? Bit Defender is very good even its selected best AntiVirus Program in the world — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.140.144.53 (talk) 16:49, 6 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Work on improvements[edit]

Hello all,

I'll be making an improvement to the list by sorting content out with wiki tables and once finished will post an update on this page. FockeWulf FW 190 (talk) 00:44, 13 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This should be a catogory[edit]

I would suggest keeping only the articles with links and getting rid of the rest because It would be a lot more readable as a category. Not only that, it actually looks a whole lot like a category. It would not look any different and I am sure it would be more convenient. I can not do this because I do not want to risk my editing privileges so can someone try to dispute this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Clockworkv (talkcontribs) 13:16, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
