Llandegai or Llandygái?[edit]

Llandygái (with or without the accent) seems to accepted as the modern official name in English as well as in Welsh, although Llandegai is still in use.

Llandygai is used on current Ordnance Survey maps, is the name of the school and church and the version most frequently used by Gwynedd Council.

In accordance with naming conventions I propose to move this article to Llandygái. D22 (talk) 12:16, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, on second thoughts, I will move to Llandygai, without the accent. The accent is correct in Welsh but not accepted in English.D22 (talk) 20:10, 3 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. Many Welsh names that used to have an English form consisting of the English names based on the Welsh sounds have long since adopted the Welsh form as common English usage. Dolgellau, previously Dolgelley in English, is a known example. Llandygai belongs to the same category.JdeJ (talk) 12:36, 4 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

    Done. Cool3 (talk) 21:02, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why was the Mynydd Llandegai move made without any discussion on that page? The only discussion there was two years ago and I don't see that the situation has changed. If you look at the OS map today, you will see that it is still called Mynydd Llandegai there. Whatever the decision I don't understand why it wasn't discussed on that talk page at all, when there clearly had been a discussion of it in the past? Relisted separately. 199.125.109.126 (talk) 19:19, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Railway tunnel[edit]

Couldn't find this geograph image at Commons: [1], but I think the tunnel is worth a mention in History section Martinevans123 (talk) 14:08, 4 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
