Lope de Vega Theater, SevilleTeatro Lope de Vega, Seville – Request made 6 December 2011 by user:Jezhotwells using template:movenotice. Reason given by Jezhotwells "[Teatro Lope de Vega] is the proper name of the theatre and thus is the name that should be used for the article" -- PBS (talk) 21:32, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is the proper name of the theatre and thus is the name that should be used for the article. I have also standardized the spelling which was a confusing mixture of British and US English. I have chosen British English as that is generally in use for articles on European subjects. Jezhotwells (talk) 16:30, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • The name does not necessarily have to be what the local people use, but should be what reliable English-language sources commonly use. Eiffel Tower is an example. I don't know what common English usage is in this case. Probably not "Teatro Lope de Vega, Sevilla". Maybe "Teatro Lope de Vega, Seville", or maybe "Lope de Vega Theater, Seville". I do not think it matters much, since redirects will work either way. Aymatth2 (talk) 17:01, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • KEEP There are articles on other Lope de Vega theaters (see Lope de Vega Theater) and it would be confusing if this one had a different title. After still finding a mixture of "theater" and "theatre" in the article, I have standardized on "theater" throughout to reflect the title of the article. I have also created a redirect from Lope de Vega Theatre, Seville. -Ipigott (talk) 08:05, 7 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • KEEP It's one of several possible titles, why not keep it and have redirects for the others. With "Theater" it will be found. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:05, 7 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move to Lope de Vega Theatre (Seville) and the other 2 likewise. Per "The Lope de Vega Theatre" 68 GBhits, "-er" 8 hits American spelling unusual for a European theatre, "The Teatro Lope de Vega" 23 hits. In ictu oculi (talk) 02:07, 10 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
