Plural[edit]

Shouldn't the plural of "lord lieutenant" be "lords lieutenant" rather than "lord lieutenants"? -- Arwel (talk) 22:44, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not in this case: 'Lords' would be applicable if we were speaking of the present collectivity, but there is only one LL at a time. 'Lieutenants' if, as here, we are talking about the individuals in the past tense. 79.72.69.156 (talk) 12:31, 1 February 2009 (UTC) Tony S[reply]
