This needs to be moved to Lord Napier, but I can't do it. Proteus (Talk) 11:55, 27 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Margaret[edit]

Try as I might, I can find no source to substantiate this claim:

"The Napier family is descended from Margaret, daughter of Donnchadh, Earl of Lennox (executed in 1425; see the Earl of Lennox)."

There are several problems with it. One is that the Napier family long predates Donnchadh, its earliest mention in Scotland having occurred in 1290. source - Clan Napier web page Secondly, The only direct connection I can find to Donnchadh was that the third laird of Merchiston, John Napier of Rusky, married Elizabeth Mentieth, a great-granddaughter of Donnchadh, source and it is from her that the Napiers had claim to the Earldom of Lennox.

Accordingly, I have edited the page to more accurately reflect the origins of the Napier family. LeeNapier 21:28, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
