The Huffington Post later confirmed that Knowles is 5 months pregnant and her pregnancy announcement had broken the "most tweets per second recorded for a single event" Twitter record, receiving 8,868 tweets per second. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/08/29/beyonce-pregnancy-twiter-record-mtv-vmas_n_941064.html?ncid=edlinkusaolp00000003 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.168.195.60 (talk) 11:11, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

I think news of an official single release is here... THIS was just posted on the official New Zealand website... Theuhohreo (talk) 13:59, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. As far as i see, "Party" does not have one. It is evident as it was not even sent to radio. Jivesh Talk2Me 16:52, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
As far as I can see? No it has not been sent to radio. Yes it seems to be the dominating factor of Urban radio, but that does not contribute to a release. From what I see, "Love on Top" is the albums third single. Theuhohreo (talk) 17:14, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
Hmmm now it is high time some people here understand that. I have already left a note on "Party"'s talk-page. Let's not talk here or else we will be reminded this is not a forum. Lol. Jivesh Talk2Me 17:21, 12 September 2011 (UTC)

Just in case you care!!!!!!!!

Sorry. The main thing i wanted to et know was about the number of views it received. This can be mentioned as per the talk-page of Knowles Wikiproject. Sorry for the rest. Jivesh Talk2Me 05:04, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

We only use charts when there are numerous chartings to be covered easily. Do you think that a chart is necessary here? I Help, When I Can.[12] 21:38, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

I sincerely do not think so. Jivesh Talk2Me 17:48, 12 September 2011 (UTC)

Lead too long

The lead does not satisfy MOS:LEAD and gets into too much detail. It should have no more than three paragraphs based on its prose length. I quickly prepared a possible lead at User:Wikipedian Penguin/sandbox to get an idea of how the lead should be structured. This does not have to be exactly the way the lead should be, but something like it. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 19:19, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

The lead is not long. It appears to be long because i have broken it into four paragraphs. And concerning you concern about too much of details, this one has all these details because it was a very notable one, i mean it got numerous reviews. That is actually what validated its existence on Wikipedia before being announced as a single. You can have a look at the AFD. Jivesh boodhun (talk / Make sure you give 4 a try!!!) 19:37, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
It is very probable the lead will be re-written after a few weeks (that is, when it starts falling down the charts) and then be nominated for GA. Jivesh boodhun (talk / Make sure you give 4 a try!!!) 19:40, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
Fine, but you'll have to find some way to shorten it down per MOS:LEAD#Length's table. It does not deserve four paragraphs. As one of the five MOS guidelines to pass GAN, this is very important. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 19:46, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
A lead can consist of 4 paragraphs per MOS:LEAD#Length. Hmmm, which article do you think deserve four paragraphs? I hope that you are not weighing the number of paragraphs with the commercial reception of a song? If yes, that is not done. Jivesh boodhun (talk / Make sure you give 4 a try!!!) 04:42, 14 September 2011 (UTC)
With a quick character count via script, we can see that this article does not have the sufficient length to have a fourth paragraph, per the table. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 17:58, 14 September 2011 (UTC)
Wow. I did not know about all that. Seriously. Can you give me the link to the table? I never knew all these details could be checked. Jivesh boodhun (talk / Make sure you give 4 a try!!!) 18:03, 14 September 2011 (UTC)
See this. Remember that prose size does not include lists, reference lists, infoboxes and the TOC. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 18:09, 14 September 2011 (UTC)
Another thing you can do is copy/paste the prose (minus reflists/ lists and infoboxes) onto Microsoft Word and do a character count there. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 18:10, 14 September 2011 (UTC)
My sincere thanks to you. Jivesh boodhun (talk / Make sure you give 4 a try!!!) 18:18, 14 September 2011 (UTC)

Release Scrapped?

Its been removed from FMQB, from Radio & Records, and it's not even on All Access.....So, i think it's best to not list it as a single for the time being until source issues have been justified. 68.62.240.86 (talk) 02:45, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

Those sites list the new releases that week. They change. That's why we usually archive them. | helpdןǝɥ | 03:28, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
You are totally wrong. R&R is automatically archived. Why would FMQB and Allaccess remove only "Love on Top" from their list of songs going for adds on September 20, 2011 when the rest are still there? You could have cared to visit those links at least once before replying to the IP. Jivesh 1205 (talk / Make sure you give 4 a try!!!) 04:55, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

Please do not get me wrong but this was what i was trying to tell you as well as Status last time. You two do not really follow how Beyonce's singles are managed. It does not matter how many team she changes. That does not mean she will have a new strategy each time. Otherwise, she will run out of strategies one day. I knew from the beginning that even LOT will not be a single. Mark my words, the next single will either be "Party" (35% chance) or "Countdown" (45% chance). There is a 20% chance for "End of Time". Wait and watch. Perhaps you will find everything i have written irrelevant but that will certainly be because you do not follow everything about Beyonce. Jivesh 1205 (talk / Make sure you give 4 a try!!!) 15:51, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

That's great and all, but every single one of those resources have been re-edited to exclude "Love on Top"'s single release! Which is the main point here. The single was cancelled. The newest rumor is a "Party"/"Countdown" double release, one for Urban one for Pop, but this is all still unconfirmed. As far as Wikipedia is concerned, 4 only released two single. UhOh STACK STACK STACK 19:22, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

Third International Single

Several sources state that it's the next international single, Source 1 and Source 2, so it should be mentioned. 68.62.240.86 (talk) 15:55, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

Lots of media outlets like that refer to a song as a single because they are misinformed. It like in one of the reviews for Rihanna's Louod, the song Fading (song) was referred to as a single, when it isn't. Calvin NaNaNaC'mon! 15:57, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
Third international single? When her team announced that a preview of the video will be shown, they referred to it as an album track unlike "Countdown". What Calvin has said is totally right. Videos have been shot for all songs on 4. That does not mean all of them will become singles when their respective videos will premiere. As far as i know (form Knowles' label), "Countdown" is th third international single. ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 16:02, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
Contradicting you OWN sources, this and this. ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 16:39, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

Ya, Countdown is the third single, but only in the US and the UK.......and look at the dates of the sources you cited, it was before those sites got word that Love On Top is going to be the third single internationally....68.62.240.86 (talk) 16:51, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

Non of them mention this third thing. This is what makes the information you provided further misleading. ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 16:55, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

But it has been already announced on the New Zealand version of Beyonce's official site that it's the third single there. Source....so, im gonna add the information back.....

This has already been discusses on her page. Her discography and everywhere else. It is simply not a single. The announcement was made there. Several websites confirm "Countdown" as the third single. Your edits will be reverted as all the previous ones were reverted. I suggest that you read the talk-page of her discography's page. Please. ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 17:03, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
As you see, your edit was reverted even before i could do something. This has been discussed countless times now. ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 17:06, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
Moreover, your source says next international single and now you are telling that it is already released. As you see, logically, everything you are doing is misleading. ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 17:07, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

But it has been already added to Australian radio as the third single there.[Source http://www.themusicnetwork.com/music-releases/singles/2011/09/12/issue--853/beyonce---love-on-top/]. You do the math, it has been announced as the third single in the New Zealand and Australian verison of Beyonces official website..then it was added to Australian radio in September 2011...and now the music video sneak peak prmeiered on an Australian TV channel...come on, its so obvious..... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.62.240.86 (talk) 17:17, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

Did you care to seethe discussion on her discography's talk page instead of telling me more and more each time? You will get all your answers there. And no, you are wrong. Shooting a video for a song does not make it a single. Is "Freakum Dress" a single? "Suga Mama"? The recent "1+1"? I can give you a list of you want. ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 17:21, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

Then why was it officialy sent to Australian radio? Source.......Can you atleast mention that it was offically added to Australian radio on September 12.....68.62.240.86 (talk) 17:24, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

By any chance, did you know about this:

The "1+1" video is the story of love at its best. It's about commitment and fulfillment and it's Beyoncé at her most beautiful. The video experiments with psychedelic visual effects and innovative lighting that gives the clip a cinematic feel. "1+1," .... the first song on the album and it's the first of many videos which will be released to visually tell the story of 4. The dress rehearsal clip backstage at AI, "Pregame" became an instant viral hit as soon as it hit the web.

★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 17:26, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

Did you know Australian radios were playing it before it was, as you say, officially sent? We have been here since years, yes many years. Do you believe it is only now that we will start fabulating single releases? ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 17:27, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

But the point is that it was officially sent to Australian radio, it doesnt matter if they were playing it before....the label officially sent it to australian radio and [ http://www.themusicnetwork.com/music-releases/singles/2011/09/12/issue--853/beyonce---love-on-top/ This source is reliable] and is worth mentioning atleast.68.62.240.86 (talk) 17:30, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

Do you think it is worth mentioning when it is not a single? ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 17:31, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

yes, i do......Anyway, Knowles official New Zealand and Australian websites announced it as a single in September 8....then it was officially sent to Australian radio on September 12....so it is a single....ypu want to call it an airplay only single in Australia, fine...but it is an offical single there.......and it did chart on the ARIA chart....oh and why is it ok for Gaga's Dance in the Dark to add the Australian radio adds date in their release history......68.62.240.86 (talk) 17:38, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

I believe because it also received a promotional digital release. And you are again bringing the same thing. LOT debuted on the official charts in both NZ and AUS before being sent to radio. So there is not relation with regards to its charts. And this is also on the talk-page of her discography's page. I told you all your answers are there. ARIA does not count airplay while compiling its charts. ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 17:45, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

What does the fact that ARIA does not count airplay while compiling its charts have to do with anything.......Record labels send songs to radio so people can here it and then buy it on iTunes.......and this source not only gives the official radio adds date but also calls it the next single so, please stop it...........68.62.240.86 (talk) 17:55, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

(edit conflict) No, you stop. You are completely misinformed about everything. Until Beyonce's record label says "Love on Top is the fourth single to be released from 4" in an official statement, the article is not changing to single status, and your edits will be reverted every time. Calvin NaNaNaC'mon! 18:00, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
It states the same for "Dance in the Dark". And you are telling me to stop it when i am being so patient with you since the beginning! ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 17:58, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

Promotional single or not

  • Is it right to consider this as a promotional single using a source which often publishes fake single covers? I see nothing being released on iTunes or Amazon. The cover, i mean the current one, is genuine but so what? Not only singles have covers. It is just a cover art. I can list many song articles on Wikipedia having covers. The actual cover is from the album booklet. The so-called promo is a 3:08 cut but where on earth is it? ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 06:25, 10 November 2011 (UTC)

  • Hung Median is reliable for charts and nothing else. If you can find an actual copy of the CD then it's more than likely a promo, but not from that source alone. The cover is iffy, its original source is from here. Remove it. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 06:38, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
  • I agree with you Lakeshade. Hung Medien cannot be trusted in this case. As for the song, we don't have a reliable source to confirm the 3:08 cut (a few forums state it's the video version, sent to radios. We can't use them.) Novice7 (talk) 06:51, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
  • I'll echo what I said in my talk page. Hung Medien is not reliable for determining the single or promo-single release status of a song. And wow, everything nowadays seems to be about Ray of Light ---> referencing Jivoo dahling's comment "faster than the speed of light". • Now I'm not sure. I've been told before that Hung Medien was reliable for release formats. And the 3:08 cut is the version they're playing on Australian radio. Oz talk 07:16, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
  • In my opinion, this is a promotional single only if it was released somewhere for digital download alone. And it mostly did, but not apart from the album. It is not a single, for sure. And that artwork is real, I guess. Is this reliable? This case is the same as "1+1"... - Saulo Talk to Me 08:46, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
Well i do not know how far it is reliable but "1+1" got a separate digital release. The download link was deleted from iTunes once the album was released. And there were various reliable website which clearly stated it was released as a promo single. ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 09:01, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
  • I can't tell the authenticity of that cover artowork, but it looks fake and is from artwork from the album notes. I am sure that it is safe to not consider "Love on Top" a promotional single. Hung Medien is definitely not a reliable source for a song's release method. Take "Lighters" for example. The Hung Medien link says that the song was released as a CD single on June 20, but that is incorrect. The song is yet to be released anywhere but on radio and was not released on radio until July 3. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 10:22, 10 November 2011 (UTC)

  • I'd have to say no without a reliable source for the covers, albeit they do seem genuine when put next to other covers from '4' singles. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 19:58, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
  • Hung Medien is not a reliable source for release. It should be used just for charts. My love is love (talk) 12:29, 11 November 2011 (UTC)
There are rumors that this will get a release in December in the UK because Beyonce filmed an ITV special for the UK. Till, then, let it remain as a song. ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 15:03, 11 November 2011 (UTC)
  • Agree with Lakeshade. Not a good secondary source to confirm the song as a "promotional" single. --Efe (talk) 15:17, 11 November 2011 (UTC)
  • I'm not sure if it's notable, but The Huffington Post (used in the article as a source) refers to "Love on Top" as Beyoncé's "latest single"; no further details though. Anyway, until an official physical and/or digital release surfaces, I reckon it should be regarded solely as a song for the time being. SnapSnap 16:59, 11 November 2011 (UTC)
Hmmm, i think i will have to write to THP very soon to tell them that releasing a video for a song does not make it a single, especially when you are Beyonce as she has a video for practically all her songs. The article was published on October 16, 2011. "Countdown" was released on October 4, 2011. That would mean LOT should have received a physical/digital release between October 5, 2011 and October 16, 2011. But as we know, it is all false. ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 17:16, 11 November 2011 (UTC)

I think we have a consensus here. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 17:00, 11 November 2011 (UTC)

"Love on Top" is apparently getting a release in the UK

"Love on Top" is 4's overall fifth single but how am i supposed to present that in the lead? It is being released only in the UK. And as it is, it stands as UK's third release. I need a few suggestions here. Please. ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 05:12, 17 November 2011 (UTC)

Here in Italy is an official single. The video is on MTV very often and the song always on the radio. The song is in the iTunes top30 and it's climbing very fast.--Aaa16 (talk) 15:58, 17 November 2011 (UTC)

No honey, it does not matter if it got a radio release in your country. I know it is top 30 on iTunes. I know everything about Beyonce. Does FIMI take airplay into consideration? ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 18:25, 17 November 2011 (UTC)

Was not released in the UK on December 4

The december 4 date was just rumored...in the discussion above, it was said: "There are rumors that this will get a release in December in the UK because Beyonce filmed an ITV special for the UK. Till, then, let it remain as a song"....anyway, that december 4 date is false, it's not in Digital Spy, not in Amazon UK, and not in iTunes UK........for now, Love On top was sent for airplay only in some countries like the australia, italy, and the uk....but it has yet to receive a separate digital and/or physical release....— Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.12.56.183 (talk) 04:51, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

I agree but a consensus is needed here. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 04:53, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

Problem solved, new release date for the UK, december 12. http://www.choice-fm.co.uk/music/future-releases/

Radio dates, are they necessary to be mentioned since they don't count towards the charts?

The radio dates for australia, italy, and the Uk, are they necessary to be mentioned in the release history given that fact that they don't count towards the charts? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.12.56.183 (talk) 05:45, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

Edit request

In the infobox, remove the December 12 date because it's false....it's not on Amazon UK nor iTunes UK....that date was just rumored, it was never confirmed....anyway, Love on top has yet to receive a separate digital or physical release...it was only sent for radio airplay in some countries....there is no secondary source to prove that it was digitally released on that date....so, remove the December 12 date from the infobox.....

Jonathan Butler - Lies

Among all the many influences listed for this song, it still somehow manages to omit the song it sounds closest to: Jonathan Butler's 80s pop/r&b hit "Lies". I spotted this right away when I first heard it and even wondered if it was a sample, and so did others on youtube in the comments.

Since this is just personal opinion, it can't be used as a source but it's worth noting. --82.40.152.188 (talk) 20:14, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
