Expansion of the acronym MTV[edit]

The article currently starts with MTV-82 (МТВ-82 in Russian) is a Soviet four-axle tramcar. MTV stands for Moscow Tram Vehicle. Now, I find that second sentence rather questionable: why would a Soviet vehicle have an English name, that's then transliterated into Cyrillic? I'm sure (out of assuming good faith) that the original name, with the Cyrillic initial letters М-Т-В, translates to something akin to "Moscow Tram Vehicle", but strictly speaking the current statement isn't correct: MTV doesn't stand for Moscow Tram Vehicle, it would stand for (I'm totally guessing here, my Russian is very poor) something like Москваская трамская вагон, Moskvaskaya tramskaya vagon, and so the second sentence should read MTV stands for Москваская [...something...], "Moscow Tram Vehicle/Wagon". I found a source (the Moscow Tram Museum) for the acronym expansion "Московский трамвай" and added it, along with some copyediting. Case closed, I think. oatco (talk) 14:34, 19 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
