The character profiles[edit]

What can we do about the character profiles? The template boxes for each character are drifting down to the bottom and not staying in place. --KnowledgeLord 04:23, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

I am wondering what kind of images to upload onto this page, is it okay to load studio stills or screenshots of the movie from pause? --EwanMclean2005

I don't mean to be a pain, but could you maybe put brighter images on the page too, I can barely make out Oscar especially --EwanMclean2005

Vandalism of this page[edit]

I have removed the parts of this page that have been vandalised, including the rubbish about Ice Age 3 characters and the vandalism done to the character profiles. --EwanMclean2005

Diego's Fur[edit]

wat the hell

It is argueable to say that Diego's fur is light brown, it looks more of an orangy colour to me, but on the other hand it does sometimes look as though it is brown EwanMclean2005 19:22, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Perhaps we call it brownish-orange?--KnowledgeLord 23:59, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Yes this sounds fine to me EwanMclean2005 (talk) 22:43, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

Dung beetles mother?[edit]

Is it really nesceray mentioning this and other unseen characters that are only mentioned in passing by characters who are themsleves only seen in passing? - Redmess 00:20, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Well, yes. Greatly known or lesser known, they are all characters of the same continuity.--KnowledgeLord 20:26, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Image deletions[edit]

Surely the bots should no longer keep tagging our images, this is becoming very annoying! EwanMclean2005 (talk) 22:43, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

Can someone confirm whether Diego and his pack (Ice Age 1) are relatives at all or not? Because, for me, only Diego's a lot like Soto physically but very different from Zeke, Oscar and Lenny. Maybe Soto and Diego were the only cats in the pack that are relatives (probably Brothers or maybe Soto is Diego's father since Diego's smaller and younger), but there were 5 cats in the pack, Soto says Roshan's father killed half their pack so they were other 5 (10 in total). So the only way they could've been relatives is that those 5 were Zeke's, Oscar's, and Lenny's relatives and that, for example, the correct scenario fo me would be that Soto were father of all four (Diego, Zeke, Lenny, and Oscar) but different mothers (that's four of the missing tigers, one very like Soto himself [that'd be Diego's mother])(that'd be Soto as a predominant male of the pack) and the 5th tiger could've been a relative of Soto's. Also, as we all saw in the deleted scenes, Soto thinks that only Diego's worthy and he's the only one who he can trust, so maybe Diego's mother was very important to Soto. Exrain (talk) 00:30, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Who said anything about the three being related? It's nothing but hokum made up by fans.--KnowledgeLord (talk) 10:27, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Can we have some insight please into why our images keep on getting deleted? We have followed the guidelines to the best of our abilities with the tags and yet they are still not acceptable. How are we supposed to improve wikipedia with these bots constantly deleting our images? —Preceding unsigned comment added by EwanMclean2005 (talkcontribs) 16:12, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Doesn't the Wiki rules state...?[edit]

That we must have references and sources for our work? Okay we haven't been pulled up about it yet, but it may be a matter of time before they do, if this is the case where would we get out references from? EwanMclean2005 (talk) 20:55, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Well, search me; We'd have no sourcing available online because no sources have been posted there thus far!--KnowledgeLord (talk) 06:57, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Semi Protection of this page[edit]

I don't know how to do it, but can we maybe semi protect this page so that people aren't constantly vandalising the page. The last edit I had to revert someone put 'New Predicted Characters for Ice Age 3'.

Eddie's voice[edit]

When I put down the name "Eddie" here I was talking about the little shelled animal shown in the first film that jumped off of a small cliff to attempt to fly, not the opossum that was shown in the second film. Since he had only one line of dialogue, nobody is credited as his voice actor. Still, there are some users that don't know any better and have stated that the voice of this Eddie is Josh Peck. That's clearly wrong, as Peck would have been too young at the time the first film was made to sound like the voice heard, and because Eddie the Glyptodon (shelled animal) shares a name with Eddie the Opossum, most users automatically assume that Peck must have either voiced both or simply confuse the two characters for one single character. This has been going on for some time, and although I've put in an invisible warning to anyone wishing to try it, the warning goes unheeded and even deleted by some. So keep your eyes open for anyone that messes up that section and do your part to revert it, please. --KnowledgeLord (talk) 16:02, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

This page -defines- fancruft. Lots42 (talk) 23:53, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Yes, it does, but I'm hard at work correcting this.--KnowledgeLord (talk) 07:05, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

Ice Age 2 character[edit]

The Ice Age: The Meltdown credits mention "Diego's bird girl", who is that? -- (talk) 07:42, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Too Many Made-Up Ideas[edit]

We have a problem: people have been changing things around here in the worst way. The names of actors credited with voicing certain characters have been removed or replaced with erroneous names. The characters themselves have been tampered with, as people change certain details that are definitive canon with fancruft. There are a number of other troubles around here, but because there are too many to list without me losing my mind, I propose an idea: let's put the page under protection.

How do we know that characters ages? (talk) 19:13, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

What is sid? There are three sources of what sid is on different pages. On a Paramylodon, one says sloth and another says a Megatherium.

How can Sid be a Megatherium, if he's smaller than Diego? Diego being a sabertooth tiger isn't even half the size of a Megatherium (which is approximately the size of current elephants)? Something's not right there. He's definitely a sloth of some sorts, which is obvious by it's nails, but something else. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Xiph1980 (talkcontribs) 08:23, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Removal of images[edit]

Hammersoft (talk · contribs) has recently removed the images from the article, citing WP:NFLISTS as the reasoning for their removal. I'm inclined to agree, as I don't see how the images add anything significant to our understanding of the characters. I'm not even sure there are any specific characters that warrant images for their sections. Are there? —C.Fred (talk) 14:07, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

International Voice Cast[edit]

Some of the main voice cast have a Turkish list. I need the Spanish cast members, if applicable. ElMeroEse (talk) 01:26, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Scratte being in Ice Age 4[edit]

Scratte, the female saber-tooth squirrel in Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, is returning for Ice Age: Continental Drift in 2012. In Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, I thought she was killed, and last year on the Wikipedia page List of Ice Age characters it said "Scratte "was" a saber-tooth squirrel", not "Scratte "is" a saber-tooth squirrel". However, I was surprised to see Karen Disher is going to reprise the role of Scratte. In fact, she did a great job with the character. So, I'm excited to see the new movie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 02:19, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

Who is the bozo that inserted citation required every individual's species? Is there any other logical candidates for example Diego besides sabre tooth cat? I know we don't do original research but can't we say just watch the films. (talk) 20:59, 1 October 2010 (UTC)

Maelstrom and Cretaceous' death?[edit]

I'm not sure if Maelstrom and Cretaceous really did died when the flat boulder fell on them, but it did fell fast on them. They should have survived the boulder like how Rudy survived a gigantic chasm that was much wider and larger than him. The two sea reptiles could have survived. If they had a chance to move out of the boulder in time, before the boulder fell on the seabed. They could have tried to get Manny again, but Scrat opened the glacier and the two sea reptiles would have been swept away to a new water area. They could survive a boulder like Rudy survived from falling into a huge chasm. Maelstrom and Cretaceous should have a survivng fate, like Rudy. Rudy also didn't seemed to have any injuries from his fall. Maelstrom and Cretaceous should be planned to return in a planned Ice Age 5, like Rudy was briefly seen in the fourth film with Buck.-- (talk) 03:34, 25 August 2012 (UTC)

The Pirates becoming Good guys[edit]

A sneak peek for Ice Age: Collision Course is coming up and i guess it'll show us of what happened to the remaining pirates from the fourth film. Indigogate (talk) 21:07, 25 February 2016 (UTC)

Great Egg-Scapade & Collision Course[edit]

Some character infoboxes are out of place. Can you sort it out please? Indigogate (talk) 10:26, 12 March 2016 (UTC)

The Dino-Birds in the herd[edit]

Do you think Gavin, Gertie, and Roger are members of the herd? They are herd members. Can you add them to the herd? The herd had 17 members. Gavin, Gertie, and Roger are the first dinosaurs to join the herd. — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 11:30, 2 May 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk)

Can you be bothered to provide official sources that state that these characters are members of The Herd, or are you too petty to understand that talkpages are not to be used for personal opinion discussions?--Mr Fink (talk) 14:30, 3 May 2017 (UTC)

In my opinion, the Dino-birds are herd members. Are they gonna appear in the sixth film?

No one cares about your opinion if you can not provide a WP:SOURCE to support it. Furthermore, Wikipedia is not the place to wonder about the future.--Mr Fink (talk) 15:51, 3 May 2017 (UTC)

I've seen the movie and the Dino-Birds became a part of the herd. — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 11:36, 4 May 2017 (UTC)

And do you have an official WP:source that says this?--Mr Fink (talk) 12:56, 4 May 2017 (UTC)

But the dino-birds are members of the herd just in case, since they're the only dinos in the Ice Age world? — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 23:49, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

Founder of Sid's lisping voice[edit]

East Frisian comedian Otto Waalkes created Sid’s typical lisping voice from the first movie on, but Columbian plagiarist Leguizamo claims it was his own idea...

Otto did such things very much earlier, for example for his speaking chimp Ronny — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 23:56, 3 October 2017 (UTC)
