"an underground pipe"?[edit]

An anon. editor changed "canalised" to read "The river is diverted into an underground pipe where it passes through the built-up areas of the city." An illustration shows the river flowing through Madrid. Can someone with better knowledge re-edit this part?--Wetman (talk) 22:41, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
