Untitled[edit]

This article needs a lot of work to remove subjectivity problems and include sources. It sounds like it was posted by a member of Marlon Lara's staff as a publicity measure. The article needs to be restructured and a lot of the minor accomplishments should be summarized down from the current lists to make the article a little punchier and easier to read.--Catrachohansen 22:21, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. I tagged the article to show lack of neutrality. Also added a sentence related to his departure as minister due to a failed performance evaluation. 15:41, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Major biases and POV introduced[edit]

The article was modified again on April 13 to add personal propaganda. I reverted back to previous version removing all unsupported items.

These are the items removed: "Improvement of the water supply system " Reason: POV

"Improvement and installation of a modern sewage disposal and *treatment system (the first one of this kind in Central America)." Reason: POV

"The Mercado Municipal (Municipal Market) is now operated by a local Cooperative of Vendors." Reason: No point here, personl or otherwise

"Many avenues and streets are now totally covered with pavement." No point here unless there is a support data to compare how much was before and how much is now "The connection linking two highways (one from Puerto Cortes to San Pedro Sula and the other from Puerto Cortes and the border with Guatemala (known as CA-3). Mexican government made some financial aid and Vicente Fox President of Mexico, Ricardo Maduro President of Honduras and Marlon Lara, Mayor of Puerto Cortes inaugurated it in June 29, 2005 [[1]." Biased. Project were approved, funded and execute without Marlon Lara playing a siginificant role.

Below are a list of item which seem to be normal government functions of any Mayor. Don't see any support or point "Rebuilt two modern public elementary schools (known as Escuelas Modelos or Model Schools): Marco Aurelio Soto in Barrio El Porvenir and Reginald H. Hammer in Barrio Campo Rojo. Helped and supported the installation of the Puerto Cortes Campus of Universidad Tecnológica de Honduras (UTH). Rebuilt the Franklin Delano Roosevelt High School Built the new Bridge "La Laguna" With the help of Empresa Nacional Portuaria, El Malecon was built. This is a wall which surround portion of the coastline in the bay area. Converted the Water Supply Company from totally Public into a Mixed-Capital (The Mayor is still the President of the Board of Directors). Redirected the traffic flow through streets and avenues Built the Pueblo Nuevo Bridge Linked the San Pedro Sula-Puerto Cortes highway with downtown of Puerto Cortes. Implement the first¨Geographical Information System GIS. Rebuild the Stadium known as Estadio Excelsior and installed its modern illumination system. When Drivers wanted to get a new or to renew the driver license, they used to travel to San Pedro Sula, nowadays after contact between Marlon Lara and Tegucigalpa Top-Level Officials, an office operates in Puerto Cortes and driver licenses are issued in matters of minutes. Playa la Coca Cola (Coca Cola Beach) has a new paved way. The USAID and the Inter-American Development Bank did supported Marlon Lara Administration in many projects, by providing assistantship and financial aid. "

"Because of his outstanding work he was considered by many the best honduran mayor of all times and one of the best in Latin America." POV and Biased

Many other Ministers were so low evaluated, but none of them were fired. The director of a descentralized institution (someone closed to Rosenthal political movemnet) was the lowest evaluated (3%), but nobody talks about him.
