Daer Michl, I asked once before that that Moers picture not be used as a representation of my work. COIN COIN is just one facet of my work as a saxophonist and I don't wish it to be used for a biography picture such as this. I greatly appreciate the support but i must ask that out of artistic respect, my feelings upon the matter are respected. Your photos are beautiful and I wish you much success with them.

dear anonymous editor (IP 70.107.31.33), would be nice if you could verify your statement by a naming a source. if Matana Roberts doesn't feel the image is a fair representation of her work, what about providing an image that makes her feel is fair? just asking. additionally I would like to know whether the performance of Matana in moers 2006 wasn't a serious one? by all means it looked seriously to me. thanks --Michl 07:01, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Michl-- I am the main source-- Matana Roberts. Of course the performance at Moers was a serious one-- a very serious one, and your picture is lovely, however for publications or websites of this nature i prefer that it is important that people see how I look without my ritual dress. My project COIN COIN is only one small facet of the work i am trying to contribute as a saxophonist and i do not feel comfortable with it being used as a definitive biographical representation of who i am as an artist on a website such as this. I have tried to upload a more common picture but can not seem to do it correctly. Any advice you might have on how this can be done would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your support of my development. All the best, Matana Roberts

dear Matana, thank you very much for responding. to talk to the 'main source' is very rarely. especially in this case, because I enjoyed your performance in moers very much. of course I understand your concerns for the image in question now and agree your project (every single project) COIN COIN only represents a small facet of your work. usually it is difficult to get usable images of musicians for wikipedia. so I was glad being able to contribute one. now and then anonymous people do 'vandlism' to articles on wikipedia. thats the reason why I reverted the article several times after soemone (you?) deleted most of the text and image. thought it was vandlism. glad your editing wasn't :) I understand and respect your wish for a more biographical representational image. to upload an image please go to wikimedia commons upload site http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Upload and follow the instructions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Images_and_other_uploaded_files might be helpful, too. IMPORTANT: don't forget to licence the image correct. after you uploaded the image you can add it to the article. don't hesitate to ask me or someone else on wikipedia for specific help. perhaps you could add some personal dates to the article (date and place of birth etc)? thanks. keep going :) all the best, michael --Michl 15:47, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Michael,
Thanks for the tips. I will try to post something. It wasn't actually i that kept changing the article-- it was a family member who became aware of it and already knew how i would feel on such matters. I finally decided it would be best for me to look into myself which i finally did. Thank you for the comments on my moers perfromance, i had a great time at that festival.
All the best,
Matana Roberts

A belated follow-up: still a short article, but I rewrote it about a week ago and cited numerous sources. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 23:50, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
