Blasiales?

[edit]

The article on Blasiaceae lists it in its own, recently formed order, Blasiales. Some other sources support this, but most sources I could find still place this family under Metzgeriales. Can someone with a better knowledge of bryology perhaps help? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.88.154.116 (talk) 19:37, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Recent phylogenetic work indicates that Blasia is actually basal to the Marchantiales, and is not a member of the Metzgeriales clade. It has therefore been moved to a new order. I've added references to the Blasia and Blasiales articles, and placed a note on this article as well. --EncycloPetey (talk) 20:03, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
