Why the article was renamed[edit]

Titles of articles about the military history of other American minority groups are in this format. The article about Military history of Jewish Americans, which I was working on, was also renamed for this reason. --La comadreja formerly AFriedman RESEARCH (talk) 22:29, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Editing Plans[edit]

This page looks informative and accurate so far, though I am interested in further developing it. Specifically, I will be adding for context on the history of Sikhs in the British army, as this set the foundations of Sikh's relationship with the United States military. The new information will be derived from scholarly essays, one being "Army, Ethnicity, and Society in British India" written by Barkwai in 2012. Additionally, I plan on expanding on the "notable individuals" section by summarizing why each Sikh is recognized in this section with the senate resolution that honors Sergeant Uday Singh, which is just one of the primary sources that will be used. Overall, I will be contributing about 500 words. Please feel free to share your thoughts on my editing plans, as I am open to considering all comments and suggestions! I think you have a very clear plan on what you want to do for this page. The addition of the history of Sikhs in the British Army and it's connection to Sikhs in the United States army is in my opinion very important and enriching.I would suggest you divide the regulation part of your page into the past and the current laws. Also I was wondering if 9/11 have affected the enrollment of Sikhs people in the United States army. You have a great plan and I think you have great sources.
