Why should this be merged with Ocoee? It's a location that's referred to in several other articles. --SPUI 22:22, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC) Source Barbara Pennington, Florida Geographic Alliance's collection of lesson plans and Steve Rajtar 1999 Ocoee Historical Trail: Ocoee, FL, west of Orlando, Minorville was named after one of the early pioneer families that came here in 1885 from Stone Mountain, Georgia. At one time, a railroad depot was located at SR 50 & 439, with William J. Minor as station agent. "Tiger" Minor Park dedicated 1/11/86, honoring this dedicated community volunteer, who was Ocoee's Mayor, City Commissioner, Lions Club District Governor and a Professional baseball pitcher. The park is located at the end of Maine Street off Geneva Street off south Bluford Avenue. The first citrus exchange was founded in 1910 by David O. Maguire, from Loganville, Georgia, and Tyrannus J. Minor.
