Meaning and significance of the title[edit]

Is there any information on why these experimental films were called Monkeyshines? Were they called that when they were produced, or have the titles been given to them later? And with English not being my first language, I would like to know whether I am missing that the title is an allusion to anything. 84.227.35.154 (talk) 19:48, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

monkeyshine is an old word meaning pranks or mischief. 109.154.71.0 (talk) 23:11, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
