Μήλον της έριδος (Apple of Discord) - 1948, Εξιστόρηση της ελληνικής αντίστασης στη διάρκεια του Δευτέρου Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου καθώς και των ελληνικών πολιτικών εξελίξεων εξεταζόμενων στο διεθνές περιβάλλον. Δε φείδεται αυτοκριτικής και αντικειμενικής θεώρησης των πρώην αντιπάλων του. Για παράδειγμα γράφει για το κίνημα του Δεκεμβρίου 1944: «Το συνδυασμένο πείσμα του Τσώρτσιλ και του βασιλιά [Γεωργίου Β΄] αποτέλεσε το άμεσο αίτιο της τραγωδίας». Αλλού ομολογεί: «Μέχρι το 1947 η βρετανική κυβέρνηση διόριζε και απέλυε Ελληνες πρωθυπουργούς χωρίς καμία σχεδόν ευαισθησία για τους συνταγματικούς τύπους». Για να καταλήξει στο 1949 και στους Ελληνες κομμουνιστές: «Χωρίς την παραμικρή τύψη, ο Στάλιν τους άφησε στη μοίρα τους».
