"He is widely considered to be the preeminent defensive coordinator in modern football."

That's ridiculous. What about Dick Lebeau? Rex Ryan? The source for this is a Tampa-specific sports article. You need to do better than that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.189.202.252 (talk) 05:40, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, let's make it "one of the best". Still, people who don't know nothing about football should understand the there's a difference between Monte Kiffin and let's say Peter Giunta when reading this article. ––bender235 (talk) 18:01, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Monte Kiffin to Ole Miss with his son official?[edit]

So a random user keeps putting that he went to Ole Miss with his son, Lane. I checked on Ole Miss's official social media and website and ESPN but nothing says that Monte went to Ole Miss with his son. I keep having to constantly change it back to FAU because nothing is official from Ole Miss. What do I do here? TheBigMan720 (talk) 20:41, 11 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This random user will just let you do the honors. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/28268168/all-access-lane-kiffin-sec-homecoming-ole-miss "About that time, Monte comes into the staff meeting. Hampered by a bad back, he walks with that familiar (and painful-looking) limp and finds a chair. He will serve as a defensive analyst, similar to his role at FAU. "What time does the staff meeting start?" Kiffin chirps. "They told me 9:20," Monte responds. Kiffin counters, "Well, you're late for your first staff meeting." Again that is Lane. Not Monte, what part don’t you understand about being a “report”? TheBigMan720 (talk) 21:59, 11 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I mean alright, I don't see how Monte could be late for a staff meeting if he was not a part of the staff, but whatever you say. I don't see a defensive analyst receiving breaking news but it's right there in that article and was tweeted last night by a man that covers FAU sports. Doesn't make much sense for Monte to no longer serve as an analyst for his son and remain at FAU while his son goes to Ole Miss but alright. Lsw2472 (talk) 22:08, 11 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Go look on the FAU website. It literally shows that he is still at FAU.[1] TheBigMan720 (talk) 23:28, 11 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Their website also says Wilson Love and Kevin Smith are on staff when they have already been recruiting at Ole Miss. [2][3] If a guy that covers FAU for a living and an ESPN article don't change your mind then I don't know what will because there won't be much coverage other than that on a defensive analyst hire. Twitter is not a reliable source unless there is a blue checkmark besides the name on the account. He traveled with his son doesn't mean he is on Ole Miss. So I don't know what to say. TheBigMan720 (talk) 02:59, 12 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
