Almost entirely unsourced Relies too much on a single source[edit]

The two external links seem to have identical short text, and the one reference an even shorter text. The vast majority of this article is completely unsourced. Please add proper references. PamD 14:21, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You can remove the material which you have written from your personal knowledge. You should not be adding information to Wikipedia unless you have read it in a reliable source which you can cite as a reference. If you just "know" things, that is not good enough for adding them to an encyclopedia article. PamD 08:18, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sir, the whole article has been referred in its official website! And the buildings in India built by the Nawabs and the British when they ruled here are difficult to be referred. As only a few references of those building could hardly be found! You would find several other articles within the scope of Wikiproject:India which do not have reliable resources!! OK, apologies, looking at it again all the information you have included is included in that official website - the layout of that site is rather confusing and I had not found it all there before. So I withdraw my remark about it being "almost entirely unsourced", but replace it by saying, as has been said before, that it relies too much on one source. That one source is not anything scholarly and referenced, but seems to be a tourist information site, so it is not certain whether it comes within Wikipedia's definition of a Reliable Source. Also, if you are quoting a phrase, please make this clear - "purling streams" looks very strange in ordinary text, but in quotes it illustrates that this is what was said at the time. Yes, the purling streams was described in a private letter written by Hastings. And yes it relies too much on a single resource. Copyright review[edit]

Much of the material was a copy paste or close paraphrase of this site which does not appear to be freely licensed.

I removed much of the material, which creates holes in the article.

While it would be ideal if I had the time to thoroughly rewrite, but the backlog at WP:CP is long, so I have cleaned out the problems, and will leave it to other editors to add back material in an appropriate manner.--SPhilbrick (Talk) 15:11, 15 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
