Is this bird in the Strix or Ciccaba genus? There seems to be a difference of opinion within Wikipedia and elsewhere. What is its official genus? Dger (talk) 17:06, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

sexual dimorphism[edit]

Wouldn't it be good idea to include a picture of a male and a female to illustrate this? Hamish59 (talk) 09:35, 29 October 2013 (UTC)

Yes, it would be nice, but such a picture is not available on Commons. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 10:15, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
A pity, particularly as this is the hook for DYK. Hamish59 (talk) 14:56, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
Even taking a look at the cited work that indicates the difference in sizes, they make no indication of what this difference is either. I would find this assertion to be questionable without more data. (talk) 04:21, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
