There has been a lot of changes at NIFT. new centres have been built. new faculties have been added to the existing centres. like rae-barielly centre, bhuneshwar centre, cannore centre, kangra centre etc. therefore please write the nift page once again including all the changes and please make it the kind of page which a college of international repute. — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 17:34, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

Stub-class by India project. Low-importance within fashion since it's relatively new and hasn't yet produced any famous alumni. Daniel Case 20:12, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Independence of sources[edit]

The NIFT and/or people connected with it have for years used Wikipedia as a means of promotion, self-glorification etc. Numerous sock farms have been detected, numerous so-called notable people turn out not really to be notable, etc. While we usually would allow an official website as a source for statements about itself, I think we really do need to find truly independent sources because the level of abuse has been astounding and - yes - in some cases it was clearly misrepresentation etc. I have no confidence that they're even checking their alumni records or whether they're just taking info from our category. - Sitush (talk) 18:19, 24 July 2016 (UTC)

Except for one name, NIFT's alumni list matches people with separate articles at Wikipedia, and that one red-linked name I once replaced, having found the name being mentioned on other articles in connection with fashion. I've been using that source as a way of keeping the list from growing too large. The number of names there hasn't changed much or at all in the year that I've been editing the article. I also note that the NIFT alumni page was present at the end of your previous editing, ending in May 2015, after considerable purging over the years by several editors. No deadline. I've been dealing with this issue for many years. The sources in the biographies tend to be very poor (often press releases or tame "interviews" in obscure publications) and often the NIFT claim is circular, ie: the alumnus is sourced to NIFT, which in turn links to WP. Are you aware of the extent of corruption, including fake degree claims etc, in Indian higher education? - Sitush (talk) 11:03, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
