Lots of people got younger-looking in the Seventies!

I tried to improve the wording a bit. I did not alter things I know little about - but surely a one-off is the same as a series episode? The Stratford casting is taken from "Shakespeare Memorial Theatre 1951-1953" published by Max Reinhardt in 1953 (and in my collection). The appearance as Sherlock Holmes is taken from a theatre programme in my possession. BBC radio 'appearances' are listed in Radio Times, and accessible in their archive.

What's in a name?[edit]

I am happy to stand corrected - hence, I have left the article's text unchanged, until (and unless) I am able to find corroboration - but I always presumed that, being a British character in a British television programme (Please Sir!), Mr Cromwell's first name was Maurice rather than Morris, the two names indistinguishable/undifferentiable in terms of UK pronunciation (but where, as with the name Bernard, American pronunciation more closely follows the original French).

Name, date and place of birth[edit]

Classic Movie Hub says here that his birth name was Arthur Noel Howlett. FreeBMD has no records for any Noel Howlett born beteen 1900 and 1904. But it has this record for Arthur Noel Howlett, born in Hollingbourne, in Kent, in the first quarter of 1902. Martinevans123 (talk) 21:26, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
