Attendance figures[edit]

IPs have been adding attendance figures without giving any sources. Does anyone have a reliable source for the attendance figures? -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:14, 23 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Scope of the article; tour definition[edit]

Edits were recently made to change the scope of the article. Up to now, this article has addressed the North American tour that began in Seattle, WA, on September 29, 2016. This is consistent with the initial concert announcement published by Rolling Stone on May 16, 2016 and later sources. Note that the Background section provides information about Sia's earlier concerts in the spring and summer of 2016 in the US, Europe and the Middle East. Including those concerts as part of the "Nostalgic for the Present Tour" introduces inconsistencies with most sources. In addition, Miguel and AlunaGeorge were not a part of the concerts prior to September 29, many of the August concerts were festival concerts, not arena concerts, and the set list for the earlier concerts was not the same as the set list of the North American concerts, for which several songs were added. Some of the pre-Seattle concerts were short sets, such as Boston and Cleveland, consisting of only six songs and lasting approximately half an hour. Also, there were personnel changes for the North American tour, most notably the addition of Maddie Ziegler. Finally, if the scope were to be expanded, it is incomplete, and it is harder to define which concerts are part of the "tour".

I propose that the recent edits be reversed so that the article introduction and table address only the North American concerts beginning with the Seattle, WA, concert.Somambulant1 (talk) 05:22, 3 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. The earlier concerts were not part of the "Nostalgic for the Present Tour". I will revert the edits. -- Ssilvers (talk) 05:32, 3 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Well, Billboard says the tour "scheduled to begin Aug. 4 at the Crocus Concert Hall in Moscow".[1] The sources used in the article probably just ignore the other dates and focus on North American dates. And the fact that Miguel and AlunaGeorge were not a part of the concerts prior to September doesn't really mean anything, in most tours artists don't have same opening acts in all concerts. Billboard got it wrong in that one article, unfortunately. They got it correct here. Sia's official announcements of the tour start with the Seattle date. See, for example, Sia's official Facebook announcement. The vast majority of major media, such as Rolling Stone, picked up the announcement correctly. This is an arena tour, whereas the earlier dates were scattered festival and other appearances, and a Europe/Middle East mini-"tour", but not part of the "Nostalgic for the Present Tour" (these are described in the article's Background section). You can see that these performances were not advertised as part of the "Nostalgic for the Present Tour": https://www.instagram.com/p/BFt8F-tPuIp/?taken-by=siathisisacting&hl=en
Somambulant1, when you get a chance, would you kindly list some of the other major media, besides the Rolling Stone article that you refer to above? Thanks! -- Ssilvers (talk) 18:57, 3 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Although there were a few incidents of confusion in the media regarding the tour start date, with Moscow or Lebanon or Las Vegas given as the first concert of the tour, most reports were consistent with Sia's official announcement that defined the tour as a North American tour beginning on September 29 in Seattle, WA. A definitive source of information about the tour schedule is Sia's official instagram account. The name, "Nostalgic For The Present Tour", was first used in this instagram announcement of the tour, posted on May 16, 2016, which included the tour schedule, beginning with Seattle on September 29, and included for the first time the standard graphic tour poster. Official instagram posts about concerts prior to the Seattle concert, such as festival concerts in the US and Europe, did not use the name, "Nostalgic For The Present Tour", nor the graphic tour poster. Here are additional examples of media reports that are consistent with the official announcement, defining the "Nostalgic For The Present Tour" as a North American tour beginning in September - here, here, and here. Somambulant1 (talk) 23:57, 3 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. A few more: Sia's YouTube promo for the tour, Seattle Times article from , USA Today, Music Times, and MTV. -- Ssilvers (talk) 02:47, 4 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Current Boxscore refs[edit]

All the references to Billboard's "current" boxscore do not support the figures given. Does anyone know how to update the reference to show the correct date's box office figures? -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:32, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ssilvers (talk) I have updated the table references using Current Boxscore dated reports found on web archives. Somambulant1 (talk) 04:43, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Bravo!! Thanks! -- Ssilvers (talk) 06:28, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
