Maoz Tsur connection[edit]

The do-sol-do-fa-mi-re-do melody for this hymn is not a Luther original, as this article seems to suggest. He took it from an older German folk melody, So weiß ich eins, daß mich erfreut, which is also the source for the most commonly used melody for the Chanukah hymn Ma'oz Tsur. This is mentioned on the Ma'oz Tzur page, in the section under "Tune."

I know about Judaica but I'm not an expert in Lutheran music, so I don't feel qualified to edit the page itself. But I do very strongly feel that this connection ought to be reflected in the page itself.Isaacmayer9 (talk) 19:12, 29 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
