As we've discussed this like a million times before...[edit]

I've just added the Speedy Deletion template as I feel like there's nothing else on Sehun's article besides the stuff he does with Exo. We have had gone through this like MANY times before. I don't know why I'm even having to do this. There is NO NOTABILITY outside of Exo with Sehun. That's why I'm going through the Speedy route for now.

Please let me know if you guys had a problem with it, or if you wanted me to AfD this instead, or anything else. Thanks!

Sincerely,

Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... (Sehun is bound to take on solo activities just as the other members have for instance D.O, Chanyeol who have acting on the side, Baekhyuns about to as well, so who says Sehun won't be given that privilege. If you see his "music videos" he appeared in BoA's music video alone, not with exo. That was a solo activity. It'll be a shame if another user has to create a page for him again from scratch when he does have enough notable work to contribute.) --Arfrar (talk) 00:53, 16 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Arfrar: Not to be offensive or anything, but Sehun's article is all about his activities with EXO. He does NOT have any solo work beyond the scope of EXO. And just for the record, appearing in other peoples' music videos is NOT enough. And also if anything, Baekhyun is more notable for his own page than Sehun for a widespread scandal that the former has caused. But does Baekhyun have his own page? Nope. His activities are still within EXO for the most part. I can understand D.O's activities being in movies and film under his own title. But Sehun has basically done NOTHING outside of EXO. And to quote you, "Sehun is bound to take on solo activities just as the other members have for instance D.O, Chanyeol who have acting on the side, Baekhyuns about to as well, so who says Sehun won't be given that privilege"... you should have waited until Sehun DOES have that notability. I have to ask, is it too soon for Sehun to have his own article? Most definitely. Tibbydibby (talk) 05:13, 16 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Also I must add... are there ANY SOURCES to back up Sehun's article, even with the little information we have to prove Sehun's INDEPENDENT NOTABILITY? If not, best to let this page go back to re-direct and wait until Sehun ACTUALLY establishes his notability outside of EXO to warrant his own article. Semi-protected edit request on 30 March 2016[edit]

It's me again. I made a mistake for my previous post. I mean, please change Sehun's Religion from Roman Catholic to Christian because he mentioned that he is Christian in an interview for Nonno Magazine (I wrote Ray for my previous post. Sorry) April issue. He said "Since I'm a Christian my talisman is devotion." That's eans he's a Christian right? Source : EXO Nonno Magazine April Issue

{{Not done} although some might argue being Roman Catholic is a denomination not a religion, being a Roman Catholic is a more specific type of Christian - Arjayay (talk) 16:51, 30 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

delete[edit]

Why did you guys delete some informations about him? Like radio shows and some television shows? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193mori (talkcontribs) 20:58, 14 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Because Wikipedia isn't a fansite. A complete list of radio show appearances isn't very encyclopedic. Random86 (talk) 21:07, 14 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The average reader would not be interested in specifically whom he appear on television shows with, otherwise the Television shows section remain the same. FoxSerfaty (talk) 02:28, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

On google it says sehun and other exo members are singers. i suggest for sehun you should put singer/dancer as for lay and kai

Moved. See general agreement below to drop the "entertainer" qualifier in this article's title and to go with "Option B". Kudos to editors for your input, and Happy Publishing! (nac by page mover) Paine Ellsworth, ed.  put'r there  02:27, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

– This is Option A. Per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, the singer is by far the most searched subject in the English-speaking world with this name. In the past two years, Oh Se-hun (entertainer) averaged 1,965 views per day and 1,475,434 views over this time period, while Oh Se-hoon averaged 21 and 15,557 views in this two-year span. For those who can't read Korean, they have the same name (오세훈), they are just Romanized differently. Option B, the singer's page can be moved to Oh Se-hun and the politician's name can remain at Oh Se-hoon, with a hatnote atop each article pointing to the other. xplicit 00:37, 25 March 2019 (UTC)--Relisting. B dash (talk) 04:07, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support remove the ghastly "entertainer". In ictu oculi (talk) 21:28, 25 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move the first to Sehun which as far as I can tell is the WP:COMMONNAME for the singer, and perhaps move Se-hun to Se-hun (name). No firm opinion on the politician, but I'm inclined to think that hatnotes are probably sufficient. PC78 (talk) 11:41, 6 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support option B or similar. No disambiguation is necessary. The fact that they have the same name in Korean sources is interesting but not relevant under our article naming policy and WP:SMALLDIFFS in particular, provided that they consistently have different names in English sources. (I don't personally agree with SMALLDIFFS but it's our consensus-supported policy.) Andrewa (talk) 18:18, 7 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Oh Se-hunSehun – Per WP:COMMONNAME and his Korean Movie Database, HanCinema, Naver, and Daum profiles, sns accounts and most reliable sources (be it English, Korean or other languages) refers him by his stage name not his birth name. 98𝚃𝙸𝙶𝙴𝚁𝙸𝚄𝚂 17:15, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Comment stronger evidence of common name needs to be provided than that imo; I don't know how the naver and daum profiles are created but I don't think those would be considered reliable English-language sources. Even less so if Sehun or his staff have any say in the contents of the profiles.
Have you tried ngrams? If not that, then do a google news search and manually count the results. toobigtokale (talk) 08:56, 9 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Toobigtokale, Ngram only shows result for Sehun and his Google news search results only reveal 300 links in Chrome android browser (either type his stage name or birth name). 98𝚃𝙸𝙶𝙴𝚁𝙸𝚄𝚂 09:47, 9 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What I mean by "manual count" is for the first x pages, only counting the reliable English-language sources and discounting the spurious sources (name overlap), count how many of each name variant is used. E.g. "5 for Oh Sehun, 6 for Oh Se-hun, and 10 for Sehun over 2 pages of Google News results, so Sehun wins".
The current reasoning isn't rigorous; haven't accounted for name overlap or reliability of sources. toobigtokale (talk) 09:50, 9 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support as per nom. In addition, to BEFORE search through Naver News (not the links above) and Daum News (not the links above) using "세훈" (the proposed title in Korean) where majortive of news sources written his name as such whereas a BEFORE search through Naver News and Daum News using "오세훈" (the current title in Korean) returns results of a politician instead. A Google News search also returns "Sehun" as COMMONNAME from reliable sources,[1][2][3][4][5][6] searching "Oh Sehun" and/or "Oh Se-hun" make no differences in the search results regardless of using search operators.
