  • Tentative oppose: Wikipedia uses "common names", not official names. (Please see WP:COMMONNAME.) The fact that the institute's own web site continues to call it the "Okinawa National College of Technology" appears to mean that this is still the common name, and nothing in the article seems to indicate otherwise, and no source was cited above to indicate otherwise. —BarrelProof (talk) 22:57, 23 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. No justification in terms of WP:AT. Please read that (as contributors to this page are urged, in several places, to do before joining in move discussions), and if it's not clear, then WP:official names is designed to help with exactly this sort of proposal.   • Support - although the proposer doesn't cite any evidence for WP:COMMONNAME, but rather a not-very-valid appeal that it is the official name, I actually think there may be some evidence that the "National Institute of Technology" version is preferred in sources, or at least that there's an even split of usage.[1][2] A completely raw Google search for "Okinawa" "National Institute of Technology" yields a lot more hits than "Okinawa" "National College of Technology". I know that's not very reliable, but it does give some indication that the official name may also be the common name.  — Amakuru (talk) 15:33, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
