Stargard - Stargrad ("Old city")[edit]

The Gard was Wendic (western Slavic) old name for Grad (city); from the same root derives also "Asgard", "Midgard" (Grad of Axis("gods"); As/Os) and Middle Grad. Vagrians were described by Adam von Bremen; the Vagrians (="Variags") who lived in a capital city called Stargard became rulers over Rus.
