This page has very poor grammar and is hard to understand at times[edit]

I would argue this page needs quite a bit of work to make it look better. The grammar is inconsistent and incorrect across the page and several edits could be made to improve this article.Keeganjones100 (talk) 02:35, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Article rework[edit]

Currently doubled items have been removed, WP:LEAD is shorted and concise: parts from lead moved to history and purpose sections.
Participating countries re-defined ( the rest of the countries either have failed to appear on meetings, or did not participate. Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in 2019 only). Added links opposing the union and criticism. Certain blocks redefined to signatory countries
TBD: grammar, citations, views on union from EU, Kosovo and other countries --Pixius talk 16:45, 29 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the move request was: Consensus to move to "Mini-Schengen area", lowercase with no quote marks around mini-Schengen. (non-admin closure) (t · c) buidhe 18:06, 5 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Mini Schengen Zone"Mini-Schengen" Area – Most news articles upon a quick Google search refer to the evolving initiative as "mini-Schengen" as this is a nickname not a formal title of the agreement of Southeast European countries. The current title seems to imply this is a formal title. • Additionally all sources use a lowercase: a "mini-Schengen" area. What is this initiative's official title? The nickname is not that widespread and I'm having a hard time finding more information in English. – Thjarkur (talk) 21:57, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
In the text of the 2020 Kosovo-Serbia agreement it is referred to as the "mini-Schengen zone" (including quotation marks). If there was a more formal name for it, the text of that agreement probably would have used it. See the "Šta piše u sporazumu Kosova i Srbije?" link in the References section. -- P.T. • Oppose per Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#Names_and_titles: "Do not use quotation marks or italics for: ... Locations ..." -- P.T. Aufrette (talk) 14:25, 15 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support and Oppose: Given that the term Mini-Schengen area comes from the term Schengen area, it seems obvious that the term should be "area" and not "zone". There should be no quotation marks though, as the previous commenter mentions. I would also personally go for a lower case "area", but people seem addicted to unnecessary capitalizations in English, so I would be fine with "Area" too. Kennethmac2000 (talk) 11:49, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Kennethmac2000's suggestion: a lowercase Mini-Schengen area since few sources treat this as a proper name. – Thjarkur (talk) 10:53, 5 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Needs a revamp[edit]

It mentions how it was created the "History", but it's not written to the "History" section it's written in the lead. It also mentions the "Purpose" there which adds details (boarder crossing saving time) that aren't mentioned in the "Purpose" section. Basically the lead mentions everything the "Purpose" and "History" sections are about. It needs, to take all that info from the lead and place it in the sections which are supposed to. Now the "History" section it's a mess, to much stuff with no sources. Some stuff need to be written and simplified.

The purpose of picture[edit]

What is the purpose of the picture of Belgrade in Economy section of the article? I propose to remove it, or exchange it for a picture of the city where the idea was first proposed, or planed or where meeting were organised --Pixius talk 14:55, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Map[edit]

The new map is good but it needs to be zoomed to make it easier to see the counties. I think the colour should be change from Green to Blue or keep the same colour and include EU member states in Blue.2A02:587:E233:EA00:4517:319E:998A:27A2 (talk) 17:04, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Purpose[edit]

Hi the purpose section needs some work and the part which refers about the previous name (Mini-Schengen Area) should be removed or reduced and placed in history section without mentioning the actual purpose of this Area. It should mention only that it adds the 'four freedoms" (linking EEA) instead of giving details about what it does. Btw some things this area does aren't mentioned like the COVID-19 memorandum, removing borders in 2023, helping member states during natural disasters and more which can be found online (Note some of those mentioned above used to be in the page). 2A02:587:E233:EA00:A08E:44D8:81F2:B744 (talk) 15:01, 31 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
